films you turned off midway through

I've actually seen the following films all the way through, but I wished I hadn't. Lost in Translation, The Village, The English Patient, All the King's Men, Tank Girl.

I am trying to watch Land of the Dead - usually i find Romero's films gripping, this one, I can't identify with any of the characters or their situation - i just don't care what happens to them, and there is only so much blowing a zombies head off you can take before it becomes funny. Not to mention that none fo these zombies seem in the least bit frightening (biting scenes aside).

Even the actors seem bored.

Revolver is the only film that has made me walk out of a cinema.

A.I. ... Most boring, pointless film EVER! Made worse by the fact it got to an ending... but then carried on for another 5 hours (seemingly).

The Deer Hunter.

First time I watched it I was spellbound, totally mesmerised. Cried myself to sleep. Stayed in my mind for years - even now when I see Christopher Walken I get flash backs.

Second time it was like post traumatic stress disorder. Watched the first act, then as they landed in Vietnam, I got so upset and panicky I had to turn it off. Just couldn't watch it again. That was about 10 years ago, so I'll have to give it another try. I hate to think I'd have to spend the rest of my life never able to watch what I would argue is one of the greatest film of all time.

Oh, and 'Welcome to the Jungle'. Because it was a big pile of poo. And boring.

I didn't like 'The English Patient' either but was stuck in the cinema with Himself who will never walk out on a film.

Didn't like 'American Beauty' either, but at least I could walk out into another room.

I fell asleep at the cinema watching 'Lord of the Rings' - the only time that's ever happened!

I've never walked out of a cinema during a film though.

I turned off "Confessions of a Dangerous Mind" after about 20 minutes  I should've turned off "Lost in Translation" but after all the great reviews I thought that something must happen sometime during the film to warrant the praise so I stuck with it... in vain.

I can't get further than about

I enjoyed it until the last 10 minutes. The ending completely ruined it for me. His wife supposedly having never even held a gun before suddenly turns into an olympic marksman and blows away the enemy. RAB!

Cheers, I'm one hour and fifty minutes through that movie, suppose I may as well stop now!!!

As for this thread, looks like The Royal Tennenbaums is not fairing too well.

A.I. - It just seemed to go on and on and couldn't hold my interest
Napolean Dynamite - Everyone I know loves this film, seriously why? I thought it was dreadful

Each to their own, but...

Lord of the rings
Talented mr ripley
Mullholland drive
The last king of scotland
Reservoir dogs

...are all quality movies. Bear with them people!

Now, The Golden Compass....what a load of rollocks!!!
