films you turned off midway through

Deja Vu started off excellently - I thought it was going to be a stonking thriller.

When it introduced all the time travel crap it just totally crashed.

Time travel is bad enough, but the plot holes were just an even bigger let down.

ummm, its weird cos when I was younger I'd never think of doing it, now I fall asleep infront of crap films or switch them off...

Freddy Got Fingered
Deja Vu
Talladega Nights
Bobby
English Patient
The Grudge 2
Children of Men
Night Listener
Rocky Balboa
Black Dahlia
Munich
Stealth
Jarhead
Moonlight Mile
The Libertine
Cypher
The Interpreter
Adaptation
Spider
Pulp Fiction - i know! a crime right?! :o

Fell asleep halfway through Donnie Brasco at the cinema in 1998.... but that was because I had sunk around 6 pints in the pub before-hand:o

More recently, a couple of weeks ago I started watching 'Monster in law'. Got halfway through it and then stopped the PVR to do the washing up. Two weeks later I saw this thread and remembered I hadn't finished watching it. I think the appropriate phrase here is 'instantly forgettable'!

Once. It was on at union film night and the DVD player broke down :(. I don't know if I'd have had the patience to wait until the end anyway, all the songs were good but way too long and I got a bit fidgety. Still want to know what happens in the end mind you.

The English Patient
Ocean's 11
The Royal Tanenbaums
Christmas with the Cranks
Talented Mr Ripley

I have a 20 min rule. If I'm not entertained, gripped, curious or laughing in 20 mins then I dont donate any more of my time to it.

"Lost in Translation" Zzzzz but other half loved it.

"Quills"
Actually switched off near the end when Kate Winslet gets killed - was getting too horrible for me.

"Pirates of the Caribbean" (the first one)

"Pieces of April"

"Harold and Kumar Get the Munchies"

"Scream 3"

"Blues Brothers" Yawwwnnn... usually "cult classic" means "rubbish".

"Shaun of the Dead"
when his Mum turns into a zombie and gets shot. Isn't this supposed to be a comedy? Thought the film was massively overrated generally

"Anchorman" -
when Jack Black drop kicks the dog off the bridge - not funny

Agreed. My hubby thought it was good

They were both awful and yet good ratings on IMDB. I switched both of them off within ten minutes.

I also agree with those who voted for A.I. although I watched all of it thinking it would get better. Definitely one of Spielberg's worst movies.

I have this thing where if I watch a film I've got to watch all of it or I think it'll get good and I'll miss it.
Wish I had turned off intolerable cruelty.(never have I found a film so correctly named) It's shockingly bad I thought I'd fallen asleep through it but turns out they just rushed everything so fast that I felt I'd missed it. Also the Terminal was bad. I can think of one I did turn off which was Chicago after a few times I noticed it's CZJ who makes me turn off so if she's in it I don't watch even Zorro 2 was bad and I loved the first one

Inland Empire. I have the DVD but have only ever managed to watch about an hour of it. I am a Lynch admirer as well but I found this one to be hard work.
