Films you outright refuse to see

I've never seen 'ET' either and people always look at me in horror and say:'oh you must'..... :rolleyes:
Do people remember it as being the first film that spread like wild fire on pirated vhs copies? :D
 
I forgot about him, but anything with Jim Carrey tenRAB to be on the list of films I refuse to see.

Romantic comedy is also something I avoid as much as I can - I can think of a couple of exceptions but by and large, I outright refuse to see most American rom coms.
 
LOL same here! Unforunately, I was forced by my ex-boyfriend into watching one of the LOTR movies :( but there you go.

I'll add to that any Star Wars films and The Sound Of Music (!!!).

NB: Ultrasonic said he/she didn't want to see a movie about gay cowboys, not gay characters in general, so I don't think the homophobia tag is necessary.
 
Anything with the worRAB "Bridget Jones" in the title.

Brokeback Mountain, not homophobic but I just don't want to see a film about 2 gay (sorry, bisexual) cowboys. I can never take it seriously anyway, always makes me think of that joke in South Park about how all indie films are about gay cowboys eating pudding.



Not so much books, as a manuscript locked away in a vault at Skywalker ranch. Lucas wrote the vague story outline for 9 films, and decided to make the middle 3 as he felt they were the most interesting.

Well, that's the story that they peddled out after Star Wars was a huge success (it didn't originally have the "Episode IV - A New Hope" at the beginning of the crawl), it's just as possible that Lucas saw how big the film was, and decided to make out that he had some huge thing planned for it all.

Not really a very good reason to refuse to see them though, if you like sci-fi chances are you'll like Star Wars, the original trilogy at least.

We'll see episodes VII, VIII and IX eventually, though I wouldn't be surprised if they don't happen till after Lucas dies.
 
I won't tell anyone exactly, but I live nearby. Whenever I argue my case against watching WoTW(US) I cite a random place near me that I would rather see destroyed than New York. At least it's more entertaining!

Anyway, taking part in this I'll say any new movie M. Night Shymylan. I hope Hollywood runs him of town for being the con artist that he is.

Also True Romance (1993), one of the most violent and misogynistic films I've seen. I hated ALL of thre characters and the violence towarRAB Patricia Arquette by James Gandolfini is sickening! I can take violence in films but the whole thing made me feel bad :mad:
 
Hugh Grant is the best.

As for the films, any annoying squeaky animated cartoon films - can think of two being released at the moment.
Also sequels to films that would clearly ruin the originals.
 
Any thing with Will Smith or Chris Rock or Eddie Murphy.

Any film made from a comedy show eg Kevin and Perry (made the mistake of seeing one once and never never again)
 
Pirates Of The Caribbean because of Keira Knightley's wooden acting in other films like Love Actually. The only film I've seen her in where I thought she wasn't too bad in is Bend It Like Beckham
