Films that you didn't think you'd like & you actually enjoyed it

Stardust. I went along with my frienRAB, not really expecting much. It didn't seem my kind of film; but I loved it! Definitely one of my favourite films of 2007.
Stepmom is another one, I watched it one evening on E4 because there was nothing else on, cried my eyes out and now it's probably one of my favourite films of all time.
 
Pride and Prejudice.

I only took my girlfriend just to be nice and ended up quite enjoying it.

I hate romantic films with an almost angry passion, but I guess I could see it as a film adaptation of a classic novel.
 
Another vote for Stardust here - it was absolutely brilliant. My friend and I walked out of the cinema going 'Oh my god, that was waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better than we expected'.

I also didn't think I'd like a film called Now and Then with Thora Birch and Christina Ricci. It seemed a but of a rom-com mush but it's actually brilliant. Love it when the cycle down the road singing Knock three times on the ceiling if you want me....
 
Rambo. Didn't expect much at all.

Best action film I've seen so far this Century. Easily.

It makes "Die Hard 4.0" look like a kiddy flick in comparison and puts other mediocre action duRAB like "Bad Boys II" to shame.
 
I used to love that film when I was little! I'd watch it at least everyday :o I can't really remember what happens as it's been ages since I last saw it, but I used to think it was great!
 
Phone Booth - i was told before i watched it that the whole film is set in one location, i thought it was gonna be crap and there was no way it could be done. after watching it, i thought it was awesome but i still don't no how they managed to pull it off!
 
Trois Couleurs: Rouge....partly because I hadn't seen the other two parts of the trilogy (and still haven't!) and partly because I do sometimes find it a chore to watch the slow-paced foreign languagers.

I was pleasantly surprised. Complex, subtly powerful, multi-layered and superbly acted by the two leaRAB.

...yet even now I retain an aversion to slow-paced foreign languagers. :confused:
 
A film about the Andes plane crash survivors of 1972.
I think the film was called 'Alive'.
Plane crash, starvation, cannibalism ... didn't really tick the boxes for me. I was surprised at how good it was.

'Donnie Darko'. A freebie that sat in the rack for ages.
Thoroughly enjoyed it once I got round to viewing it.
 
The Full Monty - I really really didn't want to see a film about men stripping, but my girlfriend at the time dragged me along to watch it and thought it was hilarious, glad to be proved wrong!
 
St Trinians

Went and saw it locally last week, and only saw it because of Russell Brand, but I found myself enjoying it more and more as it went on, and was pleasantly surprised by the cast and the storylines. All in all, a really good, laugh out loud film. :)
 
Anchorman.

Actually most will ferrel films.

They're actually really good! I am now one of those losers that quotes Anchorman randomly to look cool :p

Pan's Labyrinth. Amazing film.
