Films that make you cry

The first time I remember actually shedding tears to a film was when I was a young teen, and the film was The Hasty Heart. It had Ronald Reagan in it, and the great Richard Todd. About scotsman in a military hospital after the war, he's dying, everyone is nice, but he's built of tough stuff and rejects their 'pity', and over time softens up a bit, I'll tell you, a real tear jerker.

Marley & Me had me in bits for the last 20 mins
Return to Paradise is the one film that literally had me sobbing, its been a long time since I saw it so might have to have a re-watch and see if it's actually as good as I remember!

The Land Before Time!! I was only young when my dad took me to the cinema to watch it and I remember him warning me I might get upset, but I was actually distraught! Also, My Girl always made me a bit weepy

Planes, Trains, and Automobiles (especially the ending).

Even more sad since the late, great John Candy isn't here with us (nor the one who directed it, John Hughes) :(

There are two movies that bust me up, and oddly, both star Richard Dreyfuss.

"Always" - might just be one of Speilberg's best, but hardly gets any airtime these days.

"Who's life is it anyway?" - Arguably Dreyfuss' finest moment.

Funny how whenever I watch either of them, the room seems to really smokey... stings my eyes summink rotten.

If you never seen either of these, make an effort to find them.... you won't be dissappointed.

My Girl - when Vada runs in to the funeral shouting "Where are his glasses, he can't see without his glasses..."

Marley and Me - When they come home from the hospital after J.A's character loses her baby, and the dog just puts his head on her lap (The book made me cry even worser lol)

Good Will Hunting - The "Its not your fault" scene, gets me every time.

My Sisters Keeper - the bit at nearly the end where Sara is on the hospital bed with Kate and she breaks down (Good God I cried)

I'm in the mood for a weepy now - gonna go watch Meet Joe Black (only through reading recommendations on here, I always thought it was to do with a gorilla or something, I hope i'm thinking of the wrong movie...).

Midnight Cowboy made me literally sob, Brokeback Mountain made me weep...and I started crying half way through In Bruges and didnt stop until about 5 minutes after it finished. Three of the saddest endings Ive ever seen...and three of my favourite films. :)

Predictably Jackson's King Kong and the LOTR trilogy. Went upstairs and hugged the kiRAB after AI. Always hated the film ET, doesn't speak to me at all. Iron Giant's last few scenes.
