Howdy. I wanted to create this thread so that we could all post pictures of the fictional species that have been created for animated programs over the years, as well as to discuss those fictional species and whether or not more animated programs should attempt to create their own species of animals instead of using real animals that we’re already familiar with. I’m sure that there will be a ton of pictures posted from “Avatar: The Last Airbender”, so I’ve decided to take a less popular route and go with the puppygryph from “Yin Yang Yo!” in order to get things started.
While the creature is obviously based on the gryphon of ancient lore, it’s a new take on the concept and I believe that it’s enough to constitute it as being its own creature. Despite the fact that they’re fully capable of flight, they spend most of their time on the ground. They are also capable of verbal communication, but usually only speak to an owner that they particularly like. It takes them roughly three months to grow into their full size.
Feel free to post some pictures of other fictional species in animation, and if possible, post some informative information about the species like I did in the above example. You’re also more than welcome to post your thoughts on this puppygryph, or any of the other fictional species that will hopefully be posted in this thread.
