FExplorer is almost here, what's next.

Hey Guys, read over at symbian freak that FExplorer is almost ready and will be up for download for S60 3rd edition very soon.
So what "unoficiall" stuff can be done with this thing?
I heard a certain member say we can somehow get the FOTA off the N80 and put in the likes of a N93 and N91? I'm sure there are other "unoficial" stuff we can do with this and it will be very handy (cough cough)

any ideas?

Yup...and it shows available Ram without going to a sub-menu. Very handy for those that want to monitor how their phones respond with different programs running.

from gosymbian.com:

VERY HOT :
the new beta version is released !!! (go to 'Beta Download' from the menu). (12/30/2006).

Happy downloading!

MrCreativity, I have the same thoughts as you (voiced here ). However, here's how I see it:

Lets assume that the final release of FExplorer does NOT have access to the private folders. Here are your options:

1. FExplorer for file browsing/manipulation, screenshots, turn the backlight on, task management, etc.

2. Y-browser for files, Screenshot for screenshots, SpotOn for backlight, Tasky for task management, etc.

So FExplorer is more or less a swiss army knife, whereas you could have separate apps for each task.

I think this fits good with the market. I think that some people would rather have one program to do it all, and others would rather have an app for each task. Personally, i'll probably stick with Handy Taskman cause I like the way it takes over my task manager (holding menu). However, I'll probably get FExplorer for everything else.

I see where you are coming from and I desist.
I'll probably get Fexplorer for everything as well. I just hope the final version will allow access to protected folders.

But isn't the restrictions due to new safety features added to symbian S60 3rd edition?

2nd edition didn't have these restrictions.
Not sure about this, but just a thought.

Are these "safety features" in V3 unbreakable? Or do you have to pay Symbian some amount of money to get your program signed and able to access the system folders?
