Felix the Cat: The Movie

Does anyone remember this movie? I recently bought a Filipino VCD of the movie, and wow, it has some really terrible animation. Not to mention horrible voices. The only thing I really remember about the movie was that it was shown very often on the Disney Channel.

Yeah the movie was pretty weird. I remember it was about Felix trying to rescue a princess from her evil uncle and his robots that had big z's on them.

I have it on tape and despite its seemingly small budget its fairly entertaining and a good movie for those that want a weird animated film thats not stop-motion.

I've seen about 15 minutes of it. It's weird, just like The Twisted Tales of Felix the Cat, but unlike that series, its not funny.

Surreality aside, it's absolutely dreadful. One of the worst films (animated or otherwise) I've ever seen, and not in a "so bad it's good" way. It's just BAD.

When I saw the title of this thread, I thought you were talking about the other animated cat movie.

I remember Felix, I had a stuffed animal of him. I don't remember watching the movie, though. Then again, I didn't have the Disney channel until the 2000s.

I often felt the film was the victim of corporate mishandling of it's copyrighted entity, if only to cash in on whatever will bring in the dough in an 80's atmospheric world that was still running on credit.

On one hand, the film tries very hard with it's nod to the classic Joe Oriolo TV series by sticking in the Professor, Poindexter, the bag of tricks and all that, but on other, a story with several plotholes and animation that was farmed out to numerous studios in Eastern Europe didn't help to make it gel well in the finished product.

I do know a certain guy who was involved in animator the CGI Felix head you see in the opening and end of the film, not sure if he was proud of it though.

LOL With animation like that and a weird storyline I guess we can just guess if he was proude of it. I'd be puzzeld at what I just did if I made the film. I'd be like, how could I have sold out for money? Oh wait money :p

I don't remember this film that well, all I know is that it was on Disney Channel alot, which is strange since Felix and Mickey were animation rivals in the 1920's-1930's.
In any case, I've looked it up on YouTube, and wow, the animation is just terrible. That 3D head at the beginning is just incredibly bizarre, it really makes you wonder what the producers were on when they made this whole movie.
The movie must've been pretty awful if I don't remember it at all.
