I am new to posting here, but I have been reading posts now for over a year on asthma and allergies because my 4 year old (at the time) was diagnosed with both those things. The steroiRAB he was on (pulmicort and xoponex) in his nebulizer were making him nuts. When I spoke with his allergist about using another remedy he told me that was it basically. I could have him "crazy" or I could have him "breathe." I then later tried taking him off by switching to singulair with his pediatrician, and just using inhalers but that too made him have emotional outbursts. I was at my wits end. I just wanted my son back. Sure he could breathe, but who the heck wanted to be around the poor kid, he was so difficult? This back and forth went on for months. It was miserable. My son was prone to chest infections as well. At a friend's recommendation, I looked into Osteopathy. I did some research on the web on the links asthma relief and osteopathy and there seemed to be some info on it and since I was desperate, and the regular doctors couldn't help, I looked into it. My insurance didn't cover it BTW, but I checked it out, and I swear to you it helped. Within 2 months my son was off his meRAB (with the exception of zyrtec, a medicated nasal spray, and some strawberry flavored cod liver oil). Does my son still check in with his allergist - YES. Do we still own all the pulmicort and xoponex and a nebulizer -YES. Have we had to use them - NO. I look at this as a compliment to traditional medicine. Do I work in the medical field at all - NO. I am a Librarian. I waited a full year to see how my boy responded to the treatment. I did not want to be negligent with any information. I wanted to be sure that I was not going to give anyone false hope. This is my story. It worked for us. I have my son back. I'm so thankful, and I hope every day that he doesn't have another problem, but if he does, I'm still in contact with all the different dr.'s. BTW - My son's allergist really says nothing about the osteopath. He just glosses over it like his health has nothing to do with my son seeing the osteopath. Whatever.
