This hour, I'll be mostly preferring,

Barry Lyndon
The Shawshank Redemption
The Sixth Sense
Sid & Nancy
Das Boot
Ice Cold In Alex
Remains of the Day - just beautiful.
Withnail and I
Solaris (The original Russian one)
Death Wish 3 "I'm just going down the street to buy an ice cream"

Doctor strangelove
The Empire Strikes Back
Demolition Man (What's your boggle?)
The Dam Busters
Etre et Avoir - nearly cried
Videodrome
Trainspotting
Dolores Clairborne
National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation (Hillarious)
War Games

Tomorrow, I'll have a completely different idea about my favourite films, I'm sure.

The Big Sleep; Bogart & Bacall at their best.

Though James Garner was a better Marlowe IMO but the film goes downhill about 3/4 of the way through.

Just about everyone was a better Marlowe than Bogart e.g. Robert Mitchum (although M. Winner's version of The Big Sleep was pretty vomitous...what a surprise), Dick Powell or even Elliot Gould.
Mitchum should've played Marlow much earlier in his career; one can only guess at his reasons for not doing so.

In rough order they were released (deep breath):

It's a Wonderful Life
Jungle Book
Star Wars (A New Hope)
Gregory's Girl
Local Hero
This is Spinal Tap
Back to the Future
Aliens
When Harry Met Sally
Who Framed Roger Rabbit?
Terminator 2
Singles
Thelma and Louise
Groundhog Day
Four Wedding and a Funeral
Schindler's List
The Shawshank Redemption
Toy Story
The Full Monty
Titanic
12 Monkeys
Run Lola Run
Moulin Rouge (stop me if I'm boring you)
The Sixth Sense
Shakespeare In Love
The Truman Show
The Lord of the Rings trilogy
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
The Incredibles

Now, I know I've forgotten some...

I know its not the place, but some candidates for the worst:

Speed 2
Batman & Robin and Batman Forever
Killing Zoe
Lost in Space

You sound like a bloody McDonald's advert!!!

Whatever happened to 'I love this one'?

Good choice of movie. I thought it was very good, and I can't stand horse racing.

For a favourite, I'd have to go with 'The Shawshank Redemption'.
