Favourite Kevin Smith Film?

Are there any Fanboys/Girls out there?

i am a huge kevin smith fan and love all his work, im just wondering if there are many others who like his stuff.

the best film i think he has done is Chasing Amy, and i love the way he is mates with affleck and mewes and jason lee and when he wants to make his next film he just calls up his mates!

Chasing Amy.

But then, like most here, I like all of them. He is god after all :D

I have to say I really enjoyed Clerks 2 as well. The Lord of the Rings -v- Star Wars argument was classic

And Rosario Dawson looks particularly sexy in it I must say .. ;)

Oooooohhhh!

This is a hard one, cos like others I love them all, but if it was down to the one we have watched to most it would have to be Mallrats.

Think I might put it on now actually.....

:D

Yes, he is planning on making a horror film - but No, not with Jay or Silent Bob. It's a totally new project that he's still in the process of putting together. He doesn't even have a script yet.

Favourite Kevin Smith movies: Clerks, Chasing Amy and Mallrats.

Much as I enjoy most of Mr Smith's work, the movie that is truly 'great' in the sense that it should have received some serious awarRAB is Chasing Amy. I can't see Smith repeating the genius of that one again.

Clerks is good because it was pretty unique and had great dialogue.

Mallrats was all about Brodie, apart from him the movie sucked, but the thing is that Brodie was so brilliant in the film that it made up for the rest being a bit crap. All the romance stuff in that movie was rubbish.

Dogma was good although it could and should have been much better if

- Jason Lee had a bigger role
- None of that pointless and boring scene in the strip club with Salma Hayek and the Poo Monster and all that rubbish
- A better main character who didn't seem so bored by it all

But Matt Damon and Ben Affleck had good roles and good dialogue, so they filled the 'brodie' role in the film and made it worthwhile.

Clerks 2 was fantastic and was similar in theme and emotions to Rocky Balboa (which I also loved). It was better than the first one, I thought.

Chasing Amy is ****ing gold, start to finish. Actually wait, there was that very last scene where they all saw each other one year on? I could have done without that. The climax to that movie was brilliant, I won't spoil it for anyone. I also agree that if he was ever gonna get any awarRAB, it'd be for that one.

Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back was a 2 star movie. A few good scenes and jokes but most of it was boring rubbish (especially the stuff with the jewel theif women).

I'd rate his movies as Chasing Amy > Clerks 2 > Clerks > Mallrats > Dogma > Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back

That dvd 'An Audience With Kevin Smith' is ****ing awesome and anyone who enjoys his movies or is a movie fan in general should check it out. Funny and informative.

Chasing Amy is a class film but i still love the pure toilet humour of Jay and Silent Bob strikes back,Will Ferrall was very funny in it!!Clerks is a classic and Clerks 2 was great!

Clerks was quite good, the rest average or poor, I can't even remember Chasing Amy except for her annoying voice, Director's girlfriend I think. He to be one of the most overrated directors somehow still working today, only director where the commentary on his films is much funnier than the films themselves.
