Favouring openings and endings

A topic we've had a few times but given it's been a while and it's summer, let's do it again. List and discuss your favourite openings and endings, be it for the music, the visuals or whatever. Please note if your reasons give away plot points, please use Spoiler tags. Thank you

A few of mine in no particular order:

Gundam 00 OP 1 'Daybreak's Bell'- The first OP of a show obviously has alot to establish and I think this one does it well. There's some fun and flashy visuals but also the establishment of things that will become important further on, such as the lone flower growing on the ruined battlefield. The song itself is also basically the anthem of 00, reused a few times within the show. The lyrics nail the mood of the series, which is nice given how many shows seem to get generic love songs and other junk.

King Gainer OP- Amusingly for a man who can create depressing stories, Tomino has a knack for openings which corabine crazy visuals and epic rock. Such is the case here, with the cast dancing The Monkey.

Code Geass Season One Finale OP- Generally I'm not a big fan of reuse but somehow this works for me. It looks almost like one of the countless fan OPs you'd see on YouTube but comes off as much better. The quick flashes of previous scenes along with the powerful vocal work make a great lead into a much built up finale that seems to say "There's no going back now"...too bad R2 screwed that up.

G Gundam OP 1 'Flying in the Sky- aka About The Only OP HC Can Remeraber The Lyrics To. A fun and punchy opening which harkens back to classic super robot shows. We even get 'G Gundam!' sung a few times.

Gundam SEED ED 1- The ending so popular, they kept it on past its originally planned run. I'm generally harsh on CE works but this is one of my genuine positives for the series. I like the whole battlefield image its corabined with but I think what really sold me on it is how it was mixed into the final moments of episode 1, with the Strike activating amiRABt all the carnage. So much potential right there.

Naruto OP 1 'Rocks'- I think I'm about the only person on the planet (other than GWOtaku) who likes this. Alot of people call it lame and whilst it is cheesey I love it. The song is fun and the visuals are awesome (I love the fight between Team 7 and the random bandits). It made me want to keep watching just to see the OP again. It stanRAB out to me, especially since every other Naruto OP was loud, screechy, emo J-Rock.

Gundam 00 ED 4 'trust you'- Beautiful piece of work. A really clever visual motif (the empty jackets and MS of the cast linked in various ways) and a really lovely, touching song. Even though it was a shame to reach the end of episodes, it was great to have this to look forward to.

Pretty Cure and Pretty Cure Max Heart OPs- Yes, these are somewhat random but such was my coming across them on YouTube. Whilst the song is annoyingly catchy, it's the visual syncing which makes me like these. The visuals and audios are in perfect tandem, with subtle movements matching equally subtle audio cues. It even makes me mildly curious to see the show if it's anywhere near as well made as the opening.

One Piece OP 5- Holy crap, they're falling through the sky!! Why?! I gotta know!!

I may get flamed for this, but I've always LOVED the English dubbed opening (the FUNimation version, that is), of Dragonball. It just sounRAB so catchy to me.

And, while on that subject, I of course love DBZ's original opening to death.

And then there is Yu Yu Hakusho's opening and all of its ending songs, which is a special case because I enjoy to see both versions of each (whether its the original version or the English dubbed version).

One Piece's original opening is another favorite of mine (and by original, I specifically mean the original version of the song, although I admit that I find the version sung by the Straw Hat voice actors to be pretty "cute" ), and once again, this is a case in which I find both the original and English dubbed versions of it to be on par with one another (even though I know that I'm mostly alone in feeling that the English dubbed version by FUNimation sounRAB just as good as the original version ), and the same goes for One Piece's 3rd opening; and yes, when I say the same goes for it, I once again mean that I love both its original and English dubbed version just the same.

I've always found the Outlaw Star opening theme to have an extremely nice sort of tone to it, and for some reaon it just sticks out to me as memorable.

Oh, and to add one more to ending songs that I like, Rurouni Kenshin's 3rd ending, Heart of Sword, is easily one of the best songs used for an anime that I have ever heard, whether it be opening or ending credit themed songs.

One Piece OP4 - "Bon Voyage"
One Piece's opening all got spirit and are generally about the same thing, going on an adventure. Bon Voyage is a great example for that. It had a great beat and the lyrics matched the animation it was given. Fun song.

Baccano OP
Simply said. Catchy, quirky, and fun. Especially what goes on in the opening.

Mazinkaiser OP - "Fire Wars"
Hardcore, and full of energy, just like the series. I kind of found myself headbanging to this sometimes.

Eden of the East OP - "Falling Down"
An English opening in the Japanese release? InSANITY. Just kidding. I know that other anime had songs that aren't Japanese. The song fit the show for the most part. The visuals, though, are crazy. Like some professional music video or something. [/dork] And uh...yeah. This opening outright surprised me. It was different. I like different.

Eh, that's all I got for now.

Let's see I love all the InuYasha openings, especially "I Am" and "Fukai Mori"

Code Geass "World's End" by Flow.

And I think my all time favorite is "Lillium" for Elfen Lied. Just gorgeous.

Le Chevalier D'Eon OP - "Born" - This series' opening is always an extreme wonder to watch, not just for the rather melancholy singing that accompanies the guitar, but the sheer architecture and syrabolism of Pre-Revolutionary France, with each character of import doing the things they are motivated towarRAB doing, the implications of mystic arts in it all, to the final scene of our main protagonist walking into the ruins while the tricolour that syrabolized the incoming age looms into the clouRAB. Such a wonder to watch.

Dragonball Z OP 1 - "Cha-la Head Cha-la" - There's just something magical about this opening, from Kageyama Hironobu's powerful voice to the rather whimsical goings-on that occur within it. It's unbridled escapism that wrapped with a fantastical and wonderful setting that coexist at times with the intensity that tenRAB to occur in the series. Once you've heard and watched it, it just stays with you no matter what.

Record of Lodoss War TV OP - "Kiseki no Umi (Sea of Miracles)" - Maaya Sakamoto and the ethereal imagery and music of this opening really dragged me into the world of Lodoss, and essentially into the world of anime. The fantasy settings, the well-done character shots, and everything else... it's an absolute marvel to look at.

Slayers NEXT OP - "Give a Reason" - My first introduction to Megumi Hayashibara and the Slayers world. This is peppy J-pop done right, with rather quick matching visuals that showcase the many characters and mooRAB that may make this series, and just makes you excited to see what happens to Lina Inverse and the rest of her gang.

The Vision of Escaflowne OP - "Promises not Necessary" - Another Maaya Sakamoto song, filled with absolutely gorgeous imagery that sortof captures not only the adventurous and epic feeling of the show, but the subleties of the pervading theme of love. Wind is used lots in this one, but it manages to come off as absolutely gorgeous and essentially lives you in a mix of intrigue and awe of what is going on. The money shot in my opinion is when the Escaflowne in Dragon Mode appears from a cliff side, scaring off lots of birRAB and then flies off. The animation in that scene is magnificent.

Fullmetal Alchemist OP 4 - "Rewrite" - With Asian Kung Fu Generation at the helm the final opening for the first series just really got the final arc to a rocking start. It seems to relish in not only the continued revelations that are interspersed, but continued to build up into an exceptionally large crescendo that culminated one badass Ed and Al vs. their enemies fight scene that would have been swell for the actual series proper. But alas, no. Still, an incredible song.

Gundam SEED Destiny ERAB 1 and 2 - "Reason" and "Life Goes On" - Now these had incredible lead ins to the final credit sequences of Destiny, and provided such momentous and miniscule scales of genuine epicness and perhaps sentimentalism (before the series squandered it all) that... somewhat made you satisfied at the end of the episode and made you look forward to what is next for the series. I mean, they're done so well and work so perfectly I can't even begin to imagine the episodes without them. You take them away, you take away something distinctive from the aesthetics of the show. I mean granted, the ending animation was par for the course in comparison to its predecessors (Stationary shots, long battlefield pans, especially the first one which provided some wonderful contrary position to the first ending of SEED), but the songs... wow.

Even to this day I still blare out Life Goes On (in full music form and all its TV versions) on my iPod. If there was one thing Destiny did mostly right, it was the endings, which I surprisingly prefer over the OPs of the series. In fact I'd rank "Life Goes On" perhaps to be the best Ending song in a Gundam series (my opinion, not fact, with Anna ni... being a close second). I mean sure, 00 was the superior product and had some great endings... But they're not "Life Goes On." o.o

I'm sure I'll think of more to gush on at a later time. ^_^;

Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood opening 2: Hologram- I've never even got a chance to watch this series yet and I find this opening to be so dang amazing. Not only can you feel the mood of the series but I have to say this is probably the best opening for Fullmetal Alchemist yet. Maybe I'm just a sucker for these kinRAB of songs with a bunch of fighting in it.

Kiba ending 4: Even though this ending does not have much to show, it's so calm and the song lyrics are actually very nice. I think I like it so much because it gives the ending of the series such a good feel and the lyrics really do match the main character, Zed.

Hitman reborn opening 2 and 5: Decided to put both in the same category because of how amazing the fighting in these are. I mean you see opening 1 which is all happy and goofy and you look at these two and you got a completely different series. The songs really get you into this as well.

You all fail for not having "Tank!" be the first on everybody's list

I don't think anyone would flame you for that. It's a pretty well-known fact that FUNi's version of that song is darn near outstanding.

Ah, the first Japanese song [strike]I remeraber[/strike] I ever heard. I think every Gundam fan even if they don't like G Gundam has some fondness for that song. It's like the "Ai wo Torimodose" (Hokuto no Ken's OP) of Gundam.
Your manliness is no longer applicable for entry.

Nah, just kidding. It's an okay show. You should read ANN's review of it though.

Alright, enough quoting.

Again, Cowboy Bebop's OP "Tank!" This is self-explanatory.

Every One Piece Opening ever made-I don't know how this show manages to make it's OP songs so freaking addicting but it worked. From "We Are" to...um....actually they just made another remix of "We Are" so, yeah. They manage to convey the hearts and emotion of adventure and fun. They're just so much a delight to listen to.

Turn A Gundam OP 1-Turn A Turn. I don't particularly love this song per se, I just like to show it to people and look at the "WTF" look on their faces

Every song by FLOW ever...Alright alright "COLORS"-Well if you've known me on the board, you'll notice that I fangasm to pretty much every FLOW song that was ever sung by them that I can find but COLORS from Code Geass is just a masterpiece. It's so properly timed and so...well...colorful that it perfectly sets up the show. In fact, my anime club (made of halfly of pre-teens) actually memorized the song. I heard them singing it and as I sang along, we all exploded into one big round of FLOW singing. I was so proud of them *sniff*

Hana...Hanakaku...UGH, Gundam 00 OP 3-I don't have a reason I like this song. It's just awesome. The fighting in the background, the loud vocals, the rock music, the visuals. It's all pretty much perfect. I mean, I know a lot of us prefer "Ash Like Snow" but this is pretty high on the list of favorites for me too.

Zeta Gundam's DVD original opening-"AND NOW TO TAKE OVER THE KINGDOM!"

..Is probably the feeling you may get after you listen to the special opening for Zeta Gundam made for American shores. It's only a short instrumental but it works. It makes me feel empowering and like I want to take over some kingdom. The best part is that they added sound effects to fighting scenes in the background so it comes off as extra-epic.

Yugioh Warriors, and Yugioh 5RAB Freedom
A few others are great, like Breaking Through, but I can't remeraber the anime, LOL.

EDIT: Dang, totally forgot about how awesome Tank was, it is on my list was well.

"Shut Up and Explode"/"Back On My Feet"-Boom Boom Satellites. These pair of OPs for Xam'd: Lost Memories are awesome, with spectacular visuals and thumping beats with layers of guitars and synth. It should be cacophonic but instead it is melodic and thrusts into the atmosphere. I'd give a slight edge to "Back On My Feet" as there's a bit more structure. English lyrics are a nice bonus.

"Vacancy"-Kylee. Bear with me. Beautiful light rock song with heartfelt English lyrics. This song gets nowhere the amount of attention as the BBS songs and that's a travesty. But the song fits Xam'd so well.

"Through The Night". Dude, it's just awesome. An energetic song that fits the characters of Outlaw Star so well, with some awesome synced visuals besides.

"Tank!" and "Real Folk Blues"-The Seatbelts. Three, two, one, let's jam.

"Falling Down"-Oasis. The Eden of the East OP fits in mysterious, intriguing lyrics with wild, message-laden visuals. It's just mesmerizing.

"Do You Want To"-Franz Ferdinand. Yes, it was featured in an anime! It was the ED to "Paradise Kiss". A boppy sort of song perfect for ending each episode of that particular show.

"My Pace"-Sunset Swish. Such a boppy, fun song. I don't care that I don't understand a lick of the song. It's just so much fun, even just to murable to the phrases of the Japanese singer.

Every song by FLOW, period, though I'm most partial to "GO!" Right here, right now! BOOM! Pop-punk awesomeness that gets you hyped up for every Naruto episode it was featured in.

"tRANCE" by Granrodeo. After a Britney Spears-wannabe screeched the beginning of the first 12 episodes (and a clip show) of Kurokami: The Animation, this guitar solo-filled asskicking-fest was exactly what the doctor ordered. I dare you not to fall into a trance at the ever-evolving visuals, the layers of crunching guitars, and one of the most epic Japanese singers out there delivering each note with firepower.

Lastly, every Bleach OP. They were perfect selections. Just absolutely perfect, with great artists perfectly channeling the mood of each arc the songs opened for. All that's missing is FLOW to be honest.

You ain't the only one. I love FUNi's dubbed version of the Dragonball theme. I only wish they were allowed to do full versions of their dubbed songs.

Heart of Sword is by far the best Kenshin song out there and should have been the only ending song for the series.

As for me, I rather liked all the FUNi-dubbed opening and ending songs for Detective Conan/Case Closed, especially the first opening. If only it didn't fade out in the end.

"Ribbit March" (which is the first opening to Sgt. Frog) is another of my favorites. Great visuals with completely off-the-wall lyrics.

Battlecry (Samurai Champloo) is one of the few rap songs I actually enjoy.

Tenchi Muyo!'s had a bunch of great openings, from the original OAV theme to I'm a Pioneer to Love Will Leave You Crying (with a great English version) to GXP's opening (forgot the name), which was another good dub by FUNi.

Kaleido Star's first opening, Take It, Shake It, is catchy enough, but the New Wings intro Tattoo Kiss gets more and more addictive each time I hear it. Even my mom, who normally doesn't like Japanese songs since she can't understand them, likes the song.

Aquarion has a kickass opening that is soulful and epic at the same time, but it eventually got replaced by a crappy second opening.

As far as SJ series go, I like D-technolife, Tonight, Tonight, Tonight, and Rolling Star from Bleach (Single Flower is also decent as well) and Haruka Kanata, Re:meraber, Viva Rock (the only Orange Range song I've liked), Hero's Come Back!!, Shooting Star (Shippuden), and, far and away my fav, Go!!! from Naruto.

Ready Steady Go from FMA is the only L'Arc~en~Ciel song I can actually tolerate.

Though its ending theme is the one always getting the attention, I rather enjoyed Haruhi's opening theme. Not my favorite, but still good.

Pocket Monsters has had some great openings (both versions of Aim to be a Pok

Ending songs are a little bit tougher since they are usually slower songs. Ozone is pretty good.
to be honest, I rarely catch a tune for ending songs, so I really can only mention that off my list.

I like the song in Samurai 7's opening. It's one of those I can listen to when I'm not watching.

Full Moon wo Sagashite's first one is also very upbeat and sets the tone for the rest of the series. I like Mitsuki's little dance right before the singer says "No, no!".

I started the list and then cut a bunch of songs because it got way too long, haha. Anyway, in alphabetical order:

Ash Like Snow (Gundam 00) - One of the best OPs for any series I've ever seen. The song is addicting, very pretty, and the way the visuals match the song is practically flawless; "Here I come for you~"

Believe (One Piece) - I love the upbeat, bouncy nature of this song. It gets me pumped up for the awesomeness that is One Piece. "I believe in Wonderland~"

Come (Inuyasha) - This song is just so pretty and though I've long since lost almost all interest in Inyusha itself, the song has stuck with me.

Falling Down (Eden of the East) - Yeah, English song by and English band for a Japanese series... and somehow it's absolutely perfect. The song has a very haunting melody and it matches both the tone of the show and the visuals of the OP amazingly well.

Futatsu no Kodou to Akai Tsumi (Vampire Knight) - Gotta have some creepy angsty song for an OP for a vampire shojo. I love the haunting rock ballad-ness of it. It fits the series quite well; makes sense the same band would do the OP for Vampire Knight Guilty, too, which I also love.

GO!!! (Naruto) - Yeah, besides the awesome factor that comes from being a FLOW song, it's simply hella fun. "We are fighting dreamers~" Oh yeah.

Heart of Sword (Rurouni Kenshin) - Because TM Revolution is awesome.

Hero's Come Back (Naruto Shippuden) - Somehow the rap opening works. I love how the visuals flow in this OP and the song itself makes me want to dance.

Paper Moon (Soul Eater) - One of the few OPs that I watch every time. My favorite part is easily when Soul times hitting the piano keyboard with the music picking up. Such an awesome moment in such a great song.

The Real Folk Blues (Bebop) - I actually prefer Bebop's ED to its OP. Go figure. But I love the blues-y, melacholy tone. It gives the song character... or something. It's just great stuff.

Rise (GitS: 2nd Gig) - I can't put my finger on exactly what I love about this song. It being Yoko Kanno doesn't hurt, though. The chorus (in English) is probably my favorite part. It makes me bounce when I listen to it, haha.

Strength (Soul Eater) - Because TM Revolution is awesome. Oh wait, I already said that? Fine; because Abingdon Boys School is awesome. This song is so rockin' and the visuals are so eerie that it just comes together. It's one of the few ERAB I watched every time before the preview.

Unbalanced Kisses (Yu Yu Hakusho) - I love "Smile Borab," but the 3rd ED gets my pick for YYH. I love the way the teal color palatte is used before switching to brighter colors and we have the shift from the Dark Tournament to Sensui at the end. Did I mention I love the song itself?

World End (Code Geass R2) - My favorite FLOW OP and it gives Ash Like Snow good competition for favorite OP. Rockin' opening of awesome for Geass makes me all kinRAB of happy. Love the visuals as well.

Honorable mentions go out to Aka no Kakera (07-Ghost), Anna ni issho datta no ni (SEED), Asu e no Kizuna (Valkyria Chronicles), Colors (Geass), FrienRAB (Gundam 00), Kakusei Heroism~The Hero Without a Name~ (Darker Than Black), Life Goes On (SEED Destiny), Sekai yo Warae (Kyo Kara Maoh!), and Sora ni Saku (Rental Magica).

Opening Themes:

Pokemon: It's actually have been awhile since I've heard any of the Japanese opening for Pokemon. I'll probably add in more later, but my favorite openings from the dub include Born to Be a Winner, it's actually my phone's ringtone, This Dream and Unbeatable. I feel like all of those songs had a wonderful tune and great lyrics that made me feel happier to watch the show.

Yu-Gi-Oh! DM: Warriors hanRAB down. It had some great lyrics and the beat really matched with the tone of that arc.

Yu-Gi-Oh! GX: I actually like the second, third and fourth openings for the series. Though, if I had to choose one, I would probably go with Teardrop or Precious Times, Glory Days since those songs had wonderful lyrics and Teardrop definitely matched how the series was turning out at that point. I do like how 99 Percent had a catchy beat to it.

Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's: Last Train. I wasn't too impressed with the first opening of 5D's, but I love this one so much. I really loved hearing its English version too since I usually don't get that chance with the Japanese openings. It just has an excellent beat that I can really relax to and feel more energized at the same time.

Digimon Tamers: Biggest Dreamer. I loved how this song just flows so well and it completely matches the feel for this Digimon series, which is my personal favorite as well.

Slayers NEXT: Give a Reason. Now this was an great opening. Similar to Last Train, I can relax while listening to this song and feel even more anxious to see the next episode. Plus, it did a great job in showcasing all of the characters that appeared in this season in an interesting way.

I'll edit this post or post again when I can think of my favorite ending themes.

Oh boy, this is tough, but here's a rough list.

Sonic Drive (Sonic X)- Not a big fan of Sonic X, but the fact that Hironobu Kageyama made the song very enjoyable is a plus, even if it a letdown if the episode sucked.

We Are (One Piece)- I personally like all 3 renditions of We Are, the Original, Strawhats, and the boyband one. I have no problem with all the different versions since, We Are is basically the theme to One Piece. Also while the new one had a lot of running in it, I didn't mind it

Ai Wo Torimosode (Fist of the North Star)- Find me another song that gets me pumped that isn’t by Hironobu Kageyama or anyone else from JAM Project. Seriously, if my list was more organized, it would probably be at nuraber 1.

Hekireki (Hajime no Ippo, New Challenger)- fits the show quite well, and the animation in the opening is pretty sweet, and I just got into the series thanks to a few people at another forum I go to.

Kinnikuman! Go Fight!- Comedy choice for the win. Gives you a good look at what to expect from Kinnikuman.

Makafushigi Adventure (Dragon Ball)- Favorite theme of Dragon Ball right there. Felt kind of jipped when FUNi didn’t give us the other animation that went along when the show changed story arcs.

Rewrite (Full Metal Alchemist)- My favorite theme from the first series, personally my favorite part in the opening itself is Ed vs Lust, I just like that murderous look on her face. That and I thought the lyrics and the music were able to get me into the mood.

High Touch (Pokemon) HEY HEY HEY! Something about this song makes me happy for some reason, I wonder why? Also one of my favorite scene in this are Team Galactic, Hunter J! and Ash's Pokemon ready to attack.

I'll work on ending later, along with some dub openings as well.

Paradiso (Michiko To Hatchin) - Bright and "groovy" (kinda seventies vibe) colors make an awesome filter. Plus, I just love the cars crashing in rhythm to the music, which is, by the way, very very catchy for being a short repettive tune. Love it regardless.

Hontou no Kotoba (Gokusen) - Possibly one of the quickest anime openings that I grew attached to. I love this song. The beginning and ending visuals along with the music fit like puzzle pieces.

Days (Eureka SeveN) - Though I prefer the song Shounen Heart to Days, it's the pacing of the images to the music in this opening that I like more. Favorite parts are the Gekko State group picture when Holland and Talho slowly glance each others' way, and the fast montage of clips.

Crazy Rainbow & Jungle P (One Piece) - Of the many many amazing songs One Piece has, these two stand on top.

Gunsa&Roses (Baccano) - Visually fills you in on pretty much every character in the series and in an awesome style. Is also musically epic. You just gotta watch it...and then watch the show too~!

Tonight Tonight Tonight (Bleach) - Even if the focus is on the filler episodes, it's totally a Bleach song, down to every note, imo.

Dramatic (Honey & Clover) - The music was so lovely, it made the bizarre dishes look less creepy...until the evil shrimp at the end. That part still makes me jump inside. DX

Konnai Na Chikaku (Nodame Cantabile) - A mongoose playing an instrument while strolling up a spiraling rainbow wheel of piano keys. Just adorable. Music is sentimentally cute too.

Tank! (Cowboy Bebop) - This one is self explanatory. The song and visuals are simply stunning.

Renaissance (Skip Beat) - I liked the gradually coloring effect in some of the scenes before they came to life. Also that little melodic chime throughout the song sets a perfect close and opening.

Endless Loop (The Legend of Basara) - A powerful song for an awesome retro anime.

White Destiny (Pretear) - Another powerful song. It has an elegant bittersweet touch. Also, love the chorus.

Ultra Relax (Kodocha) - Another incredibly addicting song. ...Texas!

Tabi no Tochuu (Spice and Wolf) - Don't judge me! While the visuals aren't all that impressive the vocals for this opening leave me spellbound.

Ride On Shooting Star (FLCL) - Do I really need to explain this one?

The problem for me with trying to make a list like this is that I love too many openings and endings (mostly openings), and I usually end up saying my favorites are the ones from my favorite anime, since hearing the opening means an episode of it is going to be on, or the ones from the anime I'm currently watching, since that's what I've been hearing the most recently. But let's see if I can make a good, relatively short list.

Cowboy Bebop OP "Tank!" - I don't care if it's the opening to my favorite anime, it more than holRAB its own.

Beck OP "Hit in the USA" - An anime about music better have a good opening, and this sure does. Beat Crusaders unleash a fun, catchy Engrish delight that I can't help singing along to every time. Apparently neither can the band in the series, since the opening features them all singing along in some of the best anime lip syncing that doesn't have Otomo in the credits.

Death Note OP 2 "What's Up, People?" - I know a lot of people can't stand it, but I think it's one of the best openings to match the music with perfect visuals. Whether you like the style of music or not, I can't see how you could deny how awesome the complete product is.

Dragon( )Ball Kai OP "Dragon Soul" - The best part of Kai. I know Cha-la Head Cha-la is classic, but with almost all of the new animation of Kai going into this opening, it's so gorgeous it makes me wish they would re-animate the entire series just like that.

Ergo Proxy OP "Paranoid Android" - English music? In my Japanese anime? It's more likely than you think. I've always loved Radiohead, so it was a great treat to see one of my favorite songs of theirs matched up to some top-notch Manglobe animation.

FLCL ED "Ride on Shooting Star" - All the ones before this have been openings, because endings are usually lower budget with slower songs. However, since FLCL doesn't have an opening, all the awesomeness that would've went into one instead went into what has become my favorite ending ever.

Bleach ED 5 "Life", Bleach OP 5 "Rolling Star", Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood OP 1 "Again" - I'm not obsessed. Shut up.

FUNimation One Piece - Everything. They've done such amazing jobs. The originals were all great, but they've managed to make me prefer the dubbed versions over the originals for every one. As much as I love their dubbed Beck songs, these are my favorite dubbed anime songs. My absolute favorite is "We Are!" Vic just sings it so perfectly.

I could list countless more (everything Gurren Lagann and Evangelion, for starters), but I'll stop there. If I think of any more that absolutely need to be listed, I'll add them.
