Favorite Peanuts Characters?

I was unsure where to put this. I guess this could work just fine in the comic book forum. But since I've always been more of a fan of the Peanuts cartoons than the comics (believe it or not, though I still think the strips are masterpieces) I decided to put it here.

So who are your favorite Peanuts characters? I'll post my preferences after a few of you have a chance to respond.

Charlie Brown, of course. What's funnier than a kid who's already bald and clinically depressed? Plus, Snoopy is a bit overrated.

My overall favorites:

Charlie Brown
Snoopy
Lucy
Linus
Peppermint Patty and Marcie (better together than individually and NOT for the various lesbian references)

Not one to sound biased but my interest goes out to Snoopy, Woodstock and anyone relating to the two (Bird Scouts, Family Members, etc). I like Woodstock more probably because he's a sweet but dizzy little bird with a cool amount of "dialogue" :D

When I was a kid it was Charlie Brown of course, but as an adult it would be Linus. I still get excited year after year to see Great Pumpkin and the Thanksgiving and Christmas specials :) :)

I've never once believed that Peppermint Patty and Marcie were lesbians. I've read enough strips to know that at different times in its history they've both admitted to liking Charlie Brown.

It's always been a tie for Charlie Brown and Linus for me. Who wasn't able to relate to Charlie Brown as a kid, or want to be as smart as Linus? I've always been depressed, so I'm more likely to take my heart towards the pessimistic ones, which probably also explains why Batman, Spider-Man, and Darkhawk are my favorite superheroes. Watching characters like Charlie Brown mope around, at least round characters like him, is likely to strike a cord with me.

I always envied Linus' sense of smarts, and I could identify with him 'cause my sister bugged me a lot when I was younger (even though I was older than her). I also like how Peppermint Patty and Marcie interacted with each other, but a lot of Patty's earlier pre-Marcie strips from 1966 to 1971 were great too.

I never really though about it before, but I think the character on Peanuts that I can relate to the most was Linus. Like Linus, I'm a bright boy and also I have a ton of neuroses.

I used to like Spike when I was younger. I remember getting a stuffed animal of him when I was young. I also kind of like Linus because he had a blanket and I always carried a blacket around with me until I was like 8 or 9 (not in public though;) ).

I have a lot of favorite Peanuts characters. First of all is Snoopy, of course. He's so cute and I always loved his imagination with being the Red Barron and then typing away at his typewriter. Woodstock was always fun too since he had some funny expressions and I liked the chemistry between him and Snoopy. Charlie Brown is also a favorite character of mine. He always tried so hard, but nearly everyone made fun of him. You can't help but feel bad for the kid and cheer him on at the same time. And no list of favorite Peanuts characters would be complete for me without Linus. I always admired how smart he was in the different animated moments and specials. His scene where he explains what Christmas is all about is one of my favorite moments in Peanuts animation.

The thread is mirrored on the CBC now :).

My favorite character is probably a tossup between Linus or Schroder. Part of the gag of Peanuts was how the kids would occasionally toss in very adult observations, and Linus was always one of the best characters for that. Plus, he gave me an excuse to have a security blanket for years when I was a boy.

As for Schroder, I just have a lot of respect for his sense of focus :D.
