In cartoons, fat people are commonly portrayed as possessing any combination of the following traits: ugliness, gluttony, stupidity, laziness, no sense of personal hygiene.
A typical fat character will often be seen stuffing their face. For example, in the Little Mermaid TV series, Ariel's fat sister can be seen eating in every single scene she appears in. You never see Ariel or the other thin sisters eating.
Anyway, what fat characters have been portrayed positively?
Theodore and Eleanor (The Chipmunks) - Yes, they're portrayed as gluttons, but not in a way that makes them look disgusting.
Mikey Blumberg (Recess) - A very talented poet, singer and dancer.
Gina Lash (Angela Anaconda) - Okay, this is kind of a mixed bag. While she is ugly and disgustingly gluttonous, she's also intelligent and acts as a voice of reason on the show.
Fat Albert - While he's not very intelligent when it comes to book smarts, he's very street smart, and he's always happy to help a friend or a complete stranger if they have a problem.
Please remember: Don't just list names! Put a description next to each name!
