fashion advice? back to school? please help?

i'm going into 8th grade, and i want a whole new look. i used to wear alot of black, or neon colors. i'm not emo or scene or whatever u call it. but i usually wear alot of hoodies, tees, skinny jeans, and vans. i mostly shop at tillys or pacsun or abbey dawn at khols. but im just so tired of that look! its so common. it seems like almost every teen dresses that way. no offense to those of you that do, but that look has gotten so slutty and trashy. and it makes people notice you. which is bad for me, im usually shy.
since i'm going into 8th grade, i wanna be a whole new person. im kind of a nerd, well, not really, but i tend to get good grades and read alot. i want to be a more organized person this year. i even got a new binder and notebooks' and folders that all match the same design. see, i love fashion. so dont tell me i'm over reacting because i live in florida and school starts for me in mid august and auguust is next week and i am planning to go to the mall with my friends.
i want to be a whole more sophisticated person, more organized, nicer, not cuss or be immature, after all i will be going into highschool soon and i am very smart and i wanna act like it.
so i gotta dress like it.
i'll still wear skinny jeans, but just normal colored ones or without the zippers on them. but no more stupid tees. but i would like to keep my hoodies.
i really love kohls, and also aeropostale, but lately i stopped shopping there, idk y.
just please give me some suggestions on shoes and shirts accessories, ect. nothing to over the top, but still cute. oh and btw my school has a dress code. no open toed shoes or tank tops. or short shorts.

you dont wanna completely leave yoru comfort zone and make it very obvious your trying to change
and especially in 8th grade i think jeans and a nice top are the most appropriate
