COMMENTS?

"Based on the book by the author of 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory' "

...Wow. The man does have a name. I know 'Charlie' has more pull with the moviegoing public, but still.

This was a fun film.

When I first saw the trailer, I was put off by the stop animation (Wallace & Gromit like) maybe because I haven't seen something like that in a long time. But watching the movie, it worked out well...

One of the funny moments involved
the opossum (?) blanking out on some occasions

Don't listen to any "cuss" saying to avoid this movie...

I saw it today,
and it was a charming movie, I enjoyed it.
There was a little bit of everything in it.

I liked how the characters had a few quirks or trademarks that made them distinguishable.
Ash was probably my favorite character out of them all.

You know, when you look at it from a narrative perspective...

Boggis, Bunce and Bean are possibly three of the most terrifying animated villains ever. Why? Because they are never defeated. I mean, you can fight the Beldam, you can slay Maleficent, you can dip Judge Doom, and on a non-animated note, you can even punch out Cthulhu. But for the three farmers, all they could do was humilate them. I mean, just look at the ending! The animals' entire society has been forced into the sewer system! And if they try to leave, they will be shot. Or if they get bored and decide to go down to the sewer themselves...

What a cute funny movie! I loved the witty dialogue and the characters were relatable. I have not seen stop motion animation in a long time, this was a real treat :p

Well, I thought this was awful. Boring and that stop-motion kept bugging me. It kind of looked like a student film. Sure wasn't Aardman or Vinton quality. After I watched this, I was so bummed I bought a ticket to Astro Boy and saw it again. It helped.

And yet while AB had been getting so much praise, I didn't care for it that much. It was empty and not worth my time.

Fantastic Mr. Fox was pretty funny but that was because I saw it in a packed house during an advance screening for the film.

I went in expecting little, and I walked out wishing that I had been the one to have paid for my movie ticket, not to have had it gifted to me for my birthday. I really enjoyed it, start to finish, and while it's a very loose adaptation, it's a great animated film.

While the jerky, clearly hand-made stop-motion animation was distracting at first, it was a very enjoyable film, without being too dark or too saccharine.

However, I didn't care for that Kylie character. He didn't contribute much to the story other than being someone that Mr. Fox could talk to. Also, it's too bad that Kristopherson(?) didn't get much screen time, because he turned out to be a likeable character (IMHO).

Rating: A-

Oh yeah, I forgot about her. I think she could've had some more character development in the movie other than just being in the background most of the time.

Could be worse it look at how movies directed by Henry Selick are marketed. "By the director of A Nightmare before Christmas." The only way to sell Selick's movies is for people to mistake him for Tim Burton.

Hope he never directs a movie based on Roald Dahl as then then the ads would be a huge mess.

I was just joking that Henry Selick did direct a movie based on a Roald Dahl book, and has you can see, no one got any real billing on the poster.
