I kinda like Meg... Hopefully the writers won't turn her into a religious freak :ack: With Meg going crazy this week, I think Brian will be the only sane family member left. :sweat:
 
Now I'm curious, what did it say on the closed captioning?

Not to take anything away from the Meg story, but I wouldn't have minded if the whole episode was the Stewie/Star Trek story.
 
...Wasn't Brian somewhat religious in the original seasons? I thought the episode earlier this season where he went on and on about being an atheist was just him trying to get with that woman, but he really is one? It makes his role in the episode where people worship Peter just...contradicting. Then again, there's been a LOT of retconning between seasons 1-3 and 4-6, so I shouldn't be that surprised.

But yeah, the Star Trek sub-plot will be the only thing making this episode worth watching.
 
Pretty much how I felt. Not to bring up the dreaded FG vs. AD comparison again, but that AD episode was about tolerance and acceptance, a much better message. This was about conversion. Brian could've easily just convinced Meg that book burning was wrong instead of convincing her that God doesn't exist.

Sort of an aside, but I don't think all the blame for Brian's dialog/beliefs should be placed on Seth only. It's very possible that there are other atheists on the writing staff who want to soapbox their beliefs through Brian's mouth.

As for the Next Generation plot, it had its amusing "real life conversation" moments (such as the McDonalds drive through), but it didn't really go anywhere.
 
When Brian was growling at Meg in that rhythmic tone, that's a song from New Kids on the Block. It said [Brian growling in tune of "(can't remember the name of the song)" from New Kids on the Block.]
 
I'm more curious about what Peter and Lois will do...



Actually, I don't mind Meg being a bit strange, it sort of expands her to be humorous, even though she doesn't need to be.

Let's see if she proves those haters wrong...:evil:
 
If I remember correctly it was "The Right Stuff." I wasn't sure though if the closed captioning just said something like "bark bark bark bark bark bark bark bark"

Then why didn't Meg just become a Christian for the right reasons in the end? Why did Brian have to crush her belief in God by yelling at her about what a crapsack life she has? Why was every other serious Christian also portrayed as book-burning zealots and we never had an example of a reasonable one? I think the facts speak for themselves here.
 
I actually want them to poke fun at Atheism since the show tends to poke fun at religion a lot, I'd like them to do so to other side for once as well.
