Family Guy - "April in Quahog" - Talkback [4/11]

If this was a joke, this is exactly the reaction they were looking for. The regular audience no doubt had no idea about the crossover since it's really only something you'd know about if you were reading info online. So obviously the joke - assuming there actually was one and this was a mistake - was purely on the internet fans who - as Seth has mentioned before - always get their shorts in a bunch about little things like this. Like Fool's Gil I think this was hilarious too.

But a random rumor originating on IMDB. Yeah, I don't believe that unless there's a real source to back it up. Sorry.
 
This was an alright episode. Not great but alright. The last 3 new ones have been nothing but lame but this one sort of made up for it.

One thing that upset me was the 2 plots going on in this episode. If they were going to make an episode based on Peter and the kids then why not make it it's own?
 
Wow, people are actually upset about this. I thought it was hilarious actually, since no ads on TV or radio mentioned it and the guides didn't mention a crossover either and the only place that mentioned it was the internet, it was designed to get us worked up. It's not even like Not Without My Anus, since that episode was built up off Cartman's Dad buildup, this is just a little "ha". We did get Family Guy on The Cleveland Show, so there's that.

Anyway the episode wasn't bad, but I wish they didn't whiplash into the kids' plot halfway through the episode. LOVED the 360 gag since I see that happen a lot with parents who buy their kids and I've been an online n00b playing Call of Duty and have gotten cursed out by people who take the game waaaaay too seriously.
 
If that was an internet joke, then well played. Sometimes it just pays to take the show at face value like everyone else.

That said, this was a pretty underwhelmimg episode.
 
I wanted the King Of The Hill crossover, but I found this episode very entertaining, nevertheless. I was very pleasantly surprised with it, in fact. I think it made me laugh more than any Family Guy episode in quite a while.
 
After rewatching the episode on Hulu, I still stand by my point that this episode was weak. I personally thought that Peter not caring for his kids was a "CAPTAIN OBVIOUS" moment so I thought him trying to win his kids back was a weak plot. Though reviewing the episode again, I did get a chuckle out of Brian praying to god and then having to work at a soup kitchen to live up to that promise. Also I found some geek humor in the guy that killed Peter at the end in Modern Warfare 2, FourZeroTwo, that sounds awfully familiar if you ask me. He even commented on killing Peter in the game itself, so it was him.

I in all honesty forgot that this was supposed to be the crossover episode until I checked the thread over here, so I'm not entirely bummed that we didn't get one.
 
An actual confirmation would be better.


In almost every FG talkback thread people keep saying "Seth this" or "Seth that" or something about the writing in regards to MacFarlane. He hasn't written an episode since season 4 and people still thinks he writes the episodes.

I wonder if there is anyone out there (not just on these forums, in general) that think he probably animates each episode himself.
