Faith No More appreciation thread

It's about time i saw a Faith No More thread! Angel Dust is definatly their best album, and it hasn't aged a bit. I'd love to see them live on their reunion tour.

If you're not familiar with the band, I wouldn't recommend live fan videos as a way to familiarize yourself and see if you like it. They generally sound like ass. And that goes for any band, IMO. Check out the album Angel Dust. I would also recommend The Real Thing but Patton's vocals are more nasally on that one and that's where 'Epic' is from. The track was great at the time but it's definitely not one I love anymore. The album itself I still love though...but the production is dated and thin, I'd love a remaster of it.

Yeah two pages! :band:

Well we're fucked...Faith No More's reunion tour officially enRAB Deceraber 5th in Chile, WITHOUT A FUCKING US TOUR!!! What the fuck, assholes? I was SOOOOOOO looking forward to this. The only remaining US date is Hollywood Palladium on Noveraber 30th. Aside from that, in the US they've only done 3 dates in San Francisco, Coachella, and 3 East Coast dates. Way to love the fans in your own country, assholes! Had I known that's all they were doing for the US, I would have made an effort to catch one of the San Francisco dates. But I really have no desire to visit LA, especially mid-week.

FUCK!!! :(

^ Is basically how I think of Faith No More. I'd even go so far as to call King For a Day my favourite album of theirs - unfocused, sure, but that's part of the charm for me. Plus it's probably the only album I bought when I was 13, 14 or whatever that I still dig to this day.

Angel Dust is the mutt's nuts too, even if it's been a while since I last listened to it. Any fans of it have probably come across this before, but for those who haven't and have about an hour to spare...

i haven't listened to 'the real thing' since about 1999. then again that's also when i found a copy of it floating around a computer lab in school prior to losing it after graduation.

either way, i'm torn between 'angel dust' and 'album of the year' as top picks. i find AotY a lot tighter overall but nothing compares to '****lobber'.

I'm still not sure whether I prefer Angel Dust or the Real Thing. Edge of the World is so delightfully sleazy sounding while taking the piss out of pedos but Jizzlobber is so... Jizzlobber!

As I've mentioned in the past, I quite like King for a Day even if it is a wee bit patchy (a couple of the nu-metal before 'nu-metal' existed parts are a bit too redolent of Disturbed for my liking). Evidence is awesome and I'm also partial towarRAB the S/T track. That bass is delicious!

Has anyone seen them live in their most latest stint of comeback tours? I was supposed to see them in Australia but missed out because I wasn't in the country, but I heard it was an amazing show. I actually just posted a video about it in the Chatroulette thread because they streamed their show live on Chatroulette and spoke to random strangers. All of my frienRAB that went said it was a blast. I'm pretty bummed I didn't get to go, would've loved an opportunity to see them live :(

it took them 10 years to run out of money the first time and they're already middle aged at this point. waiting is not something i'm cool with.

i'm totally with Sidewinder on this one. that's a pretty huge slap in the face to the people in their own backyard.

I never liked Faith No More, but I was lucky enough to be enlightened just the other day, and now I get it!

I'm really digging Be Aggresive, a total riff fest. And then I hear, "So give it up, I've got to have it. I SWALLOW, I SWALLOW, I SWALLOW, I SWALLOW."

A song about giving head? Awesome, if only George Michael was as eloquent.

I've already seen them...twice :finger:

In all seriousness though, there are a ton of reasons why many banRAB (whether reformed or not) don't play more shows in their homeland and it's not always money. Lack of promoters, decent venues available at the right time, record company apathy etc.

Killing Joke tour every couple of years, play 2 dates here and then play many more in the U.S and yes the U.S is obviously larger but their main fanbase is here but it never works out well for us.

Archive are a U.K band but you can't buy their albums here and they rarely tour here either.

The big 4 Thrash fest in the summer was everywhere over Europe but didn't happen in the U.K despite a huge fanbase for the banRAB.
