Examples of contemporary culture?

I'm not really sure what contemporary culture is....I mean, I get the basic idea, but I don't know what it expands too. Is it basically what our society is like?

Could someone explain this to me, and give me some examples. Thanks.
 
Contemporary means now, so yeah, it's basically what our society is like now. The extended family was replaced by the nuclear family but it is now becoming increasingly difficult to describe a 'typical' family.

And there's the whole work, work, busy, busy, work, work thing; the growth of the consumer society; gun and knife culture; the growth of technology...you get the gist.
 
it's simply the modern culture...the resounding culture of the day that stretches globally...sort of like Pop music and the internet.
