cricket. lol thats y im so confused :P i thought it would work just fine. i put prl in. and i see ev on screen. i click interenet. and gateway error =/ i had settings refreshed and *228. so i think i went bak to orig prl. lol i can toss in again. i just want EVDO to work

Its Cricket, almost markets have had some affect of either no access at all, or just some of the stuff on the portal. Ebay, yahoo, many sites wouldnt load and would give gateway errors. Its slowing coming back to normal, im still having problems as of right now i am getting hateway errors again on my phone as well as few other people i know with the service.

well since the evdo is not officially active yet there, your problems could be related to that. you do not need to manually put the gateway in or anything like that. but yes there was a problem with a connection to yahoo that was causing many websites to be unaccessible.

Dont think Boise has EVDO yet i was just there. If you do a *228 wouldnt that just re-download the non-evdo PRL being that boise is not a evdo market? I just learning about this stuff and i travel from Denver to boise frequently and have never had evdo work there.
Best of luck anyways.

well, i tossed in 01050 prl. and i had ev signal, just gateway error when opened interenet. i probally just have to wait till there done setting it up =/ and yes *228 puts non evdo prl bak n phone. lol ill just toss ev prl bak in at end of month or something. no biggy

Well I have 3 working EVDO phones and i am coming to Boise this saturday. So when i get up there i can post up wheather or not youe evdo siginal is genuine cricket. I have a phone that nam 2 is set on PRL 852. It recieves evdo siginal but evdo doesnt work on it. AS soon as i get up there i will post up a reply and let you know for shure if evdo is working up there or not. But i was just there 1 month ago and no evdo. But woith broadband being launched here soon wouldn't suprise me if it is in the works.

Well when i first read about it almost a year ago now it was supposed to be a PCMCIA air card, but since their start of the launch all i see being sold from them is a USB adapter like you see on their website now. It would be nice if they made a ExpressCard style card so i don thave to use up my USB ports but i think i can live with it lol.

Not sure if there is any "Networking" one can do with it short of maybe a shared internet connection via your home/private network. They just sent out a text message yesterday mentioning its coming soon, not sure if that was a nationwide text or local to us here in Denver. Personally i cant wait for it, my pocket book says different but my brain says YOU NEED THIS lol.

Hello, the air card works great in the Nashville area. You guys will not be disappointed. Cricket actually offers two different ones. pcmcia card and the usb style. I purchased this cricket aircard back in October.

How fast is it? I hear it's about 400-700K. I asked the idiots at the Cricket store and they said, "Pretty fast." How fast is 'pretty fast?' "About 800K." That's pathetic. I told them that's hardly faster than EvDo. "What's EPBO?" What morons... Are you really paying $40 a month just for that?

Yeah it varies but most of the time it's aournd 600-700 and I am paying $30 a month, added it on to my phone service. The EVDO has been shady in my area or I would use internet through my Touch. As soon as they get all the bugs worked out I will probably get rid of the air card. LoL, those comments sound typical for a cricket store.

i didnt get that text. but i was talkin to a cricket guy. (imma dealer) and he was telling me it was 1.5 i was like. o good lol 35 a month or whatever worth that. but iunno now =/

Yeah, the only upside to it is the easy accessibility, so if you're someone who owns their own business and neeRAB internet out in the field, per se, this might be good to have. CricKet seems to be targeting professionals as well as the general user, though a lot major companies provide equipment and resources for their field teams, and the speed doesn't really meet the neeRAB of said companies, so their commercials are retarded on that count. And don't the aircarRAB use EvDo, too? That's hardly better than tethering (other than not having to worry about using it too much). I really don't think it's worth $40, or even $30 a month. I'm sure you can get a better deal through a local small-business-friendly provider anyway.

Anyhoo, I just said screw it all and got a digital cable and 6rab internet bundle for $60 a month from Comcast. It may not be portable, but TV AND internet? Awesome. And at least THEY know what they're talking about.

RABl would be the only broadband access cheaper than this. other advantages of the aircard are, portability, no contract, RABl and cable are not available everywhere inside of cricket's coverage area's. etc...
