The animation looks really great (also looking forward to the Shinji/Gendo focus, if that's true).

I'm not happy about Asuka's name change either but...I thought they were just changing the Soryu part. Is it going to Asuka Langely Shinikami or simply Asuka Shinikami? Either way, I doubt they'd completely change the fact that Asuka's half German. That's way too major of a trait to change.

I think I remeraber amongst the evageek forums one of the admins stated that Mari is Kaworu's twin.

Oh yeah. This also...(I know it's already been confirmed, I think a pic of the promo poster and a screen shot from the official trailer side by side would be interesting to see.)

These new movies are a reboot of the TV series. There will be four movies in all.

And wait, new character? did not realize this. Is she piloting an Eva as well? Man, can't wait to see these movies.

The new character is Mari (glasses girl). She's piloting the American Evangelion that was retconned to appear, since Angels dissolve in the movies, therefore no core to send to and thus wipe out said EVA during accident.
