I was a ways back, the video camera is cheap, and having to hold it up made my Michael J. Fox come out even more, so the quality is not very good. Sorry.
As I expected, Greg Ayres was very unhappy about not reprising Kaworu. What's worse is that he was looking forward to voice him again when he was called in to record more Evangelion, and it wasn't until he actually recorded that he was told that he was voicing Kensuke, and not Kaworu. They really just went against his wishes and all logic when they pointlessly recasted him. I know he'll do a great Kensuke, but Kaworu was his character. Jerry Jewell will probably do a great Kaworu, but I expected to hear a voice coming from him that has been used before, and obviously can again. Does Kaworu really need four English dub voices? Maybe he'll get some more in the rest of the Rebuild of Evangelion. Watch out, Goku and Lupin. He's catching up. Assuming Mike McFarland also casted it, I should've asked him why he casted Greg as Kensuke, yet didn't have him reprise Kaworu when I was talking to him yesterday. Oh well. Hopefully some feedback can inspire them to have Greg reprise Kaworu for the rest of the Rebuild. Hell, he has such a small part in 1.0, they can have him redo those lines while he's at it. I don't think also being Kensuke will be a problem, but if it is, it would make more sense for him to just reprise Kaworu and not Kensuke. The latter also has a very small part in 1.0, so it wouldn't be much trouble.
WOW WALL OF TEXT MUCH?! This is what happens when I'm not near a computer for 3 days. All that said, everything else about this panel kept reminding me of how FUNimation is by far the best American anime company, and getting consistently better, especially when compared to ADV's simple Q&A panel.
