Eddie Stobart Channel 5

Got on my nerves the way they went on about that woman driver and her cream cakes. I wished someone had shoved a few in her gob to stop that stupid grin she had on her face all the time.
My brother worked for ES and left as soon as he could, terrible firm to work for.

Hang on, the bozo had come to a fork in the road - was it right? was it left?

He'd already been told it was left by one of the locals, time to phone the office, time was going on, white knuckle stuff indeed, which was it?

Panic over, it was left.

How did they get a series out of this?

As in another post thought i was watching ice road truckers for a minute with the voice over about the dangers of transporting cakes until the camera turned and it was the m6 :D

I been watching this as i used to do alot of work at the widnes Depot when it was Oconnors 10 years ago i have been up one of them huge cranes was awesome.

But did the cream cakes get to their destination.
I'm assuming the whole edition hinged on this cliffhanger.

OK was the any real content apart from trying to create a drama out of the extremely routine?

It's not uncommon to get a small spill on a petrol station forecourt. But any fuel and rain runs off into interceptor tanks, simply put, they have drains at the bottom so only the water goes from them into the main drain, the fuel being lighter, floats on the top and mostly evaporates.

There are all sorts of safeguarRAB regarding petrol, even "the girl in the petrol station shop" should have a "petrol competence" certificate. The biggest risk is trying to put more fuel into a tank than for which there's ullage, or the wrong type of fuel in a holding tank. That really causes problems!

:D Much like Ice Road Truckers.'Will the truck fall through the ice?!'.No,it doesn't.'Tune in next week when 'will the truck fall through the ice?!'.Boring!.

"This Bridge is tight"

....you've got about a foot to your left mate!!

Try driving a truck in Bath, Bristol or Stroud every day.

On holiday a few years ago in Yorkshire we went on the Settle to Carlisle railway and whilst we were in Carlisle I was amazed to see that there is actually an "Eddie Stobart" shop. Apparently you can shop on line too. There must be a pretty big fan club out there for those to keep going.

oh don't put a truck through stroud,a big no ,no. they had problems theres back in the early 90s when strouRAB locals buses used the town centre as a bus station, arrhh nightmare. closing the bus station was a big misstake. the cinama should of gone somewhere else

It's interesting in places IMO, it's just the way they try and ramp things up like it's life and death and turn everyone involved into a 'personality'.
Just present the various facts and people involved in a normal manner and let the viewer decide how exciting it is.
Then again, I didn't bother to watch or record last night's offering.

Not surprised to find out last night's 'cliffhanger' was a fork in the road and a tight bridge.

I'll watch Trawlermen again and again, watched a lot of Deadliest Catch over Christmas too, but it was on after BBC2's Noir Season.
I can only guess they're a bit more matter of fact about the dangers and don't keep trying to ramp it up all the time.

Lisa with her little laugh at the end of each sentence does my head in.
Oh the animations in Ice road truckers are gold too.

:( Yeah-BP,Shell,Esso and the likes gave their drivers huge pay oRAB and pensions.Early retirement at 50-55 basically.
Then the same drivers started the next day with the likes of United Transport and co- on about

I enjoyed the Rally episode but outwith that I get the feeling they could have made it a one off 1 hour show really. Apart from the lovely Fiona that is!

Is she on last nights epiisode per chance?:D

That sums it up!

After watching the hilariously OTT first programme, with its 'SeconRAB from Disaster' script (and music  ), I was wondering what on earth they could possibly fill a further 5 episodes with.

Perhaps they set out with the idea of making a slightly different type of programme, but when they found what they had to work with, they decided that something of a piss-take was the only way to go. ;):D

Poor sweet honeychile....feeling underappreciated, are we? Best hurry back to bragging about your abusive childhood then, sweetums.
