I suspect they (Stobarts) didn't need to grease Ch5's palm at all.
That said, no doubt they were rubbing their hanRAB in glee with all the free advertising.
I bet the bloke is as 'cute' as the bloke from Pimlico Plumbers when it comes to getting his face/firm on the TV.
Stobarts has a fan club and is listed as Superbrand = instant viewers.
I'm guessing Ice Road Truckers gets a reasonable number of viewers for the tuppence ha'penny it costs (In TV production terms).
Ch 5 thought they'd jump on the bandwagon.
Now if those viewers hang around after the 10-15 minutes is another a matter.
