Eccledstone was deeply flawed as a character says Lennon

He is very smug.

In fact, years ago, the Diary in the Guardian used to take the piss out of his smugness and pretentiousness. Eccleston read it and was quite unhappy about them taking the piss out of him. When the BBC announced they were going to bring back Dr Who, the Diary laid out the odRAB for who the new Doctor was to be... so you had people like Sherger 44-1, Babs WinRABor 90-1 then finally Chris Eccelston was down at 1000-1

I like to think he actually took the Dr Who job just to spite the Guardian.

Can someone explain this to me?
Is it a comment on the character of the actor (spelled incorrectly)?
Or is it a comment about a deeply flawed character, called EccleRABtone, in some production?

And is the Lennon mentioned in the first post, the OP or some other person called Lennon?

Perhaps about Ecclestone's comments about John Lennon recently. Press interviews about Lennon Naked on BBC4.

He also said ... " I've always been fascinated with John. I don't like or dislike him but I felt tremendous sympathy with him when we did the film. I admired him as a performer. He was a showman but a cripple inside."

Well they're doing better than a fair few of my threaRAB and I actually try and put some meat in the sandwich.

It's quite galling actually.

Still don't know what it's about, not sure if I care, curious though :)

In Eccleston's portrayal Lennon came across as a bitter, indulgent, self-centred hypocrite, which is probably close to the truth, a lot of talented showbiz people are total arseholes, like Tony Hancock, Fred Astaire, Peter Sellers, Elvis and Sinatra as well in a lot of ways.
