Hi

(I Might be in the wrong forum here but its about a film)

I bought 2 of the same DVRAB off ebay about 3 weeks ago (one for me - one for my sis).

The seller had good feedback (300+ 99%). I paid and when i checked the status a week later, he was suspended.

I emailed the guy and he said DVRAB will be on the way and i got them last week.

On the ad, he said they were Asian imports.... right this is where i need advice coz i feel RIPPED!

They are blue discs - copies right?

The didnt come with covers or anything and the label is white with printed writing (a high quality one, still a sticker nonetheless)

He said they were R2 - so they should play on a PS2? I tried on saturday and you could see the title screen, though it was all jumpy. so i tried of those discs that let you play any region and it didnt work.

He has since been removed from ebay - and i sent an email today asking if he will honourably send covers (i doubt i will even get a response) and if he will let me know whats wrong - even if they are copies.

Have i got my system set up wrong?
will it only work on a chipped PS2?
Is it a cheap copy?
Have i been ripped off for

SounRAB like it :s Usually, if they are that cheap and hes been selling a lot of them, they are copies. Having said that, if he didnt mention in the auction that they were copies and didnt come with covers, hes in the wrong. This happened to me and I emailed the person who then sent a cover. If hes been suspended from ebay though, you havnt really got a leg to stand on.

Im not bothered if they were copies (id rather originals and if id known they were copies Id probably have not bothered)

He could do the decent thing, though and send me a cover, even a refund!

what about the crap playback? is that coz its a copy? do i need a different set up or is it the dvd thats nacked?

it could be that its been burnt on the wrong type of Disc, depenRAB what DVD's a playstation plays or he's used an inferior type of disc or it could be if he's used say divx and your machine cant hadle that - I sell discs on ebay (not pirates) and have to make sure the buyer tells me exactly what model machine they have before I burn the disc - as I had problems when I 1st started selling my DVRAB

Nuts in May! Should see it, it is SO funny.

SO anyway, it might work on a different DVD player.

Or might work on a laptop with the right codecs (whatever thay are?)

He should do the decent thing and send you covers, but whether he does or not is another matter. That actually happened to me, I bought 'saw', and had a pretty good idea that it was a copy, seeing as how it cost four quid, but then the user was no longer registered. I'd already emailed about not having a cover, and it was sent out to me anyway. You could always give it a try, and just ask him to send a cover or arrange a refund.

Just a quick question, I need to burn some commercial adverts that can be played in any player be it PS2 or cheapo Lidl DVD player, what discs would you recommend then? And where to buy them from?

Thanks

Not meaning to totally hijack the thread, but....

I've found the auction now, and have heard of this sort of thing before....does it really work ?

I notice that you sell it in PAL and NTSC format..does the difference in the FPS rate not mean that these two versions of the same disc will be out of sync by a fair bit after an hour or so, meaning that one of them can't possible be in sync with the album ?
