Ebay DVD rip

But will the running times be the same ?

US DVRAB and videos have less frames per second than an European DVD, meaning that US DVRAB and videos run for longer than Euro ones.....To see what I mean, compare the running times from some films from amazon.co.uk to amazon.com - the .com ones will always be 1/2 mins per hour longer, due to the frame rate differences....

Not that you'd notice, we're only talking 90 seconRAB per hour or so, but surely that's enough to put Dark Side of the Moon out of Sync with either the PAL or NTSC versoin of the film after half an hour or so ?

Sorry to drag this one completely off track, but it's something I've always wondered !

I wish it did work that way - I have a couple of players that will play anything DVD+R, DVD-R, divx, mpg but a lot of older/cheaper machines are very fussy about what type of disc they will play

Ebay is littered with dodgy DVRAB. Asian box sets and malaysian imports. Do ebay ever getting their fingers out of their as$ NOOOO. They have got more important things to deal with than increasing the world of illegal movies. They value their profits more than the laws of the UK.

Not sure whether its illegal to import and sell Malaysian or Taiwan Disks as long as you are upfront and the disks are genuine. The flicking TV problem (mentioned earlier) sounRAB like a problem with your television not recieving NTSC signals from your PS2 Here's a check list
1) Make sure your connecting to your PC Via Scart
2) Go into your PS2s set up configuration and turn video output to RGB
Now try the DVRAB. Covers incidently can be downloaded and printed from the internet
Hope this helps

You'll have to be more specific. If you play them in your PC and they are still flickering, then there is something wrong with them, beyond being NTSC or PAL. If you don't have the right codec, just download WINDVD or PowerDVD, I think you might be able to get a free trial from the internet somewhere. Or, you could download it from a P2P or something. (for test purposes only of course)

I will try and run it on the PC and see what happens....

Oh, and still had no response to my emails. the git could have done the decent thing and replied at least.

I have his mailing address... i could register him on all kinRAB of dodgy mailing lists....

SUSSED IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Started a new game of Ico last week and it asks at the beginning whether your telly is 50 or 60 hertz....

I had been trying the DVD on the ancient old telly thats only 50htz, so have just tried it now on our super duper new screen.... and it works!!!

Why anyone buys DVRAB of Ebay I will never know, especially of films that aint usually out yet!!

sheesh

wake up and smell the sweaty bed!!!

use ya noggin, dont be so naive.

download them yourself. dont be silly!!!

that way you dont pay and when they get a DVD release officially you can go and buy it and enjoy spending the cash.
