My bad...I misread your post. I thought you had an SE Ultra. The good news is that with your upgrades you should be able to hang in their with any SE Ultra you decide to "dance with". Good numbers now that I see it's a 96". Good luck with it.

I also just put in gear driven cams, high volume oil pump with Headquaters cam and lifters in my 2004 Harley Davidson Ultra Classic. I already have a Power Commander, Rinehart true dual and a screaming eagle aircleaner. I'm going to get it dyno next week. Any one have a guess on what the numbers will be ???

Thanks guys, when I do a cam what would you recomend?
SE 211 or SE 255, or go with Andrews 26? I have a lot of questions as this is my fisrt Harley in 67 years. My retirement present to myself.

Just talking about bolt-in cams... no increase in compression, displacement, or head work:

As far as the SE cams, I'd consider either the 204 or 255. With the 211, you'd be giving up performance in the lower rpm range. Really, the 211 needs more compression to work well. Lots of guys love the 204. It works pretty well in the low end, and rocks in the mid-upper range. It also has the benefit of a great sounding idle. It's probably about comparable to the stock cam until around 2500 rpms, then it would take off. The 255 is a favorite of touring bike owners because it shines in the rpm range most of us ride... 1800 to about 4000.

I haven't worked with the Andrews cams, but there's lots of guys here that have. Just looking at the timing events, the 26 looks similar to the 204, but with a little less lift, duration, and overlap. It would probably come on a little earlier than the SE204, and the 204 would probably hold on a little longer. That's just an educated guess, not based on actual experiencee.

Really, for anyone to advise you on cams, you need to identify what rpm band you tend to ride in, and what you're wanting to accomplish. Do tend to ride at 3000 plus rpm, and like to bounce off the rev limiter? Do you want stop light to stop light performance? Do you tour 2-up, fully loaded? What I like might not be what you like.

I have to agree with boogaloo, I have 211's in my 09 street glide and they don't come on untill around 3000rpm don't get me wrong I like running it up through the gears and it do run once the cams kick in but I still do most of my ridin' from 2 to 3000rpm and the 255's would have be a better choose, again though the 211's are fun. 96" stock heads & Compresion true duels, high flow air cleaner PC-V 85hp / 101tq
But as boogaloo stated it depends on what your after.
The best advice I can give is to be sure and use a good map builder / tuner.

Hey boogaloo, good write up on the cams. I agree, the motor build has to fit the riding style. I have not been following the thread very close but have not seen much about S&S CAMS? I prefer the gear drive setup. I have a 2008 FLHX, 103" with SE heads and S&S G570. I told the Tech I wanted a torque motor, they were familiar with the G585 (I think thats it) but not the 570 so we looked up the profiles and he felt it was good fit for SE heads we were looking at. with the change of enging mount for 2008 there was limited selection of SE performance heads. I also went with SE touring mufflers, been there with loud and with enough cities giving tickets I decided play it a little safer. I live in Denver, Thunder Mountain did the build and initial tune. Initial tune left me with some pinging after coming back from 105th and they could not hear it. Took the bike to Rocky Mountain and they found the initial base tune was for the wrong bike. All fixed with better numbers and mileage. I don't have the Dyno run with me but at altitude HP=90 Tq=100. Not bad at altitude.

My bike, 2010 FLHX
Stage II 103 kit w/ SE 255 Cams
SE Pro super tuner
D&D Boss Fatcat with wrapped performance baffle
SE stage I air cleaner with Zippers' filter upgrade

Bike stock 68 hp and 84 tq
Bike now 92 hp and 106 tq

(The 255 is a favorite of touring bike owners because it shines in the rpm range most of us ride... 1800 to about 4000.)
This sounds like what I need as I pack double most of the time and just cruise the highways. I gave up riding it hard a few years ago ( maybe 30 years ago) But its still fun to be able to get it on every once in awhile

Again thanks for the input.
