dvd rental.

Its not always the first on the list but i would agree it is always in the top three. It depenRAB what your trying to rent.

How do DVRAB arrive? The reason I ask is that I live in a flat, and anything bigger than a jiffy bag has to be collected from the Sorting Office which can be a pain in the ass.

Do these sites generally offer discs from Boxsets? For example, I would like to see Season 2 of 24, and I feel it's one of those things I'd probably buy then watch once only, so rental seems a good option for me.

I look forward to hearing your thoughts...

I've been using DVD rental companies for some time now and find them a really cheap way of getting the latest movies. I'm currently using ScreenSelect and find them to be very reliable with stacks of choice.

As it's such a minefield choosing a rental company, I've set up a comparison website to help people find the right deal for them. Have a look at http://www.dvd2you.co.uk/comparison and you can compare all the packages from the leading rental companies.

Good luck and enjoy those DVRAB!

Interesting. It's specifically about one US company - do they operate in the UK under a different name? Do they, and/or other companies, have the same modus operandi in the UK?

I can see what they're trying to do - manage their customers by rewarding low users and punishing high users. But it could also discourage people from keeping the subscription going after the trial period, because they will come to expect a reduced service once they start paying for it. So it could be a risky strategy.

I'm going to give it a try tomorrow and register for the free trial, although I might be bettter going for the 25% off for the first month. I noticed that it's release schedule is a little behind Blockbusters, is this usually a long term problem, or do they catch up over the year?

I don't think they have a presence in the UK, but they are working on it. They recently acquired a patent to deliver movies via the Internet, believing that the postage costs that are incurred, can be an incentive for film publishers to grant licences to disseminate their product.

So, they may well be aiming for global access rather than access on a region by region basis

I don't think their business product would be maverick, in any way. It is probably the standard method of profit enhancement. At least for postal deliveries. The method may well be more biased towarRAB the consumers when piped films become a reality

I think quite a few online rental companies are slightly delayed in recieving new releases. If I remember right, it can cost quite a bit (around

These guys say allow 2-4 days for the discs to arrive with you and the same to get back to them.

As they claim to use first class post I'm a bit surprised at this. Do they use this as a way of limiting the amount of discs you can receive.

In everyone's experience how quickly do you get another disc back after sending the viewed one in?

Thanks.

It takes one day to get there the next day you recieve an email telling you what th next one will be the film is with you early the next day.

It has been the same everytime for me.

Stupid question, but does the EM1 trial give you access to ALL the movies? how many movies are you allowed to 'rent' at any one time? are you provided with mail to return the DVRAB in?
