Dreamed Violence

Briskly walking through street lights, tripping every third step, and
looking back every fourth--David was being followed. And every fourth
step, he'd see their black faces silhouetted against the blackest
night he swore he ever did see--they were gaining.

His breath turned vapor and fogged forward his face and his feet beat
ever discording notes against the pavement--they were gaining.
His shoulder was grabbed, his self turned around; something was demanded,
and David lashed out. He threw a right hook and one's ear began
to swell--he held it and backed away. A figure lunged, bashing David into
another figure whom David tried to elbow--he began to flail. A fist
lashed out against restraints and collided with tits--Rachel's tits--"I'm sorry!"

David found himself in a bed, breathing hard, beading sweat. He
apologized again. Rachel pained. Rachel accepted. They fell back
into sleep.

Rachel and I woke up--her for work, me to see her off--and she didn't
seem in a bad mood. The whole scene in the night seems really blurry
to me--I really had been asleep. And I'm wondering if I should
apologize again and explain myself, or if I should simply let it wash over.

I had a bad dream and, while sleeping, punched my girlfriend in the tit. I apologized as soon as I'd realized what had happened, but I was still half asleep, and I'm wondering if I should apologize to her whilst I'm awake, or if I should just let it wash over.

You're lucky you didn't hit her somewhere else.

I have the same problem though, except I have lucid dreams.

Seems so real, and I take it as such. Scary shit.

500th post! FTW:balloons:

I thought a lucid dream is where you know you are dreaming, not where a dream seems extremely real. I'd think the latter is something based on memory of the dream or some such, but I dunno.

I had a dream once where my friend and I were in a firefight in a strange white building with windows with these like... swat teamish dudes, and we were using wheelchairs (both occupied and vacent) as cover. I woke up when I got shot.

I'm pretty sure lucid dreaming is when you realize you're in a dream. That also happens to me quite alot.

You are correct, sir. A lucid dream is one in which you are aware of being in a dream state, and can then take control of the dream and basically shape it however you want. I've always wanted to experience this, but anytime I realize I am dreaming, I always wake up immediately. Slusho seems to have failed his vocabulary roll.

Had a dream when I was 16 and in the hospital. A HUGE six-foot doberman attacked and in the dream, I picked up a chair to hit it with. In real life, though, I'd picked up the spare pillow and knocked my poor mother off her seat. While she was working on her crossword, no less. As I woke up, I saw her picking herself off the floor with a rather mean sneer on her face. "Do you REALLY want this back?"

Pre-Op painkillers can really fuck with the head at times.

It's scary when dreams don't stay where they belong and cross that border, especially when loved ones are witnesses (or victims!). Just let her know that you surely didn't want to hurt her, but it's not like it was premeditated or anything, so I don't know if an apology is truly applicable. But then, if you feel it necessary, it couldn't hurt.

That WAS a hell of a descriptive, by the way.
