Dream Theater--Greatest Metal Band of this Era

ah, the Tool phenomenon.

and then people overcompensate by getting into five-page arguments over whether they can enjoy a band that's technically proficient.

You should know by now that no one gives a crap about this band, except Don.

Plus they are already talked about a lot on this forum.

Do you even know how arguments work? He's the one that said LaBrie's crap, then I said ok fine, name a singer that's better. He failed miserably, etc, etc. In other worRAB, he's the one that started this pure excuse for an argument.

PS: I edited that post you quoted me on.

YOU CONFUSED KEYS AND TIME SIGS ON YOUR DREAM THEATER REVIEW YOU ****ING MORON, MISFITS PROVED IT, YOU KNOW NOTHING YOU ****ING IrabECILE.

ALL THE SINGERS I LISTED WERE ROCK, THAT LIST WAS A ****ING ROCK LIST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

DIE GODDAMMIT, DIE MOTHER****ER, DIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

well..yea, but many people have natural vibratto. Like for me, unless I"m thinking about it, it's just natural for me to put on vibratto at the end of a held note that's longer than a certain amount of time.

I'm sorry you can't be talented if you make ****ty music, sure you can have all the technical skill in the world and still not be talented. I hate people who say "I don't like Dream Theater but they are great musicians". No sorry, great musicians make great music, ****ty musicians make ****ty boring music. As such stop saying you don't like this band but they're good musicians. If you don't like it, then by your standarRAB they're not good musicians.

Dream Theater as such have ****ty musicians becuase they make ****ty music.

I just looked this up too. About Georgia Brown in the Wikipedia (wiki again...)

"Georgia Brown is a Brazilian R&B and soul artist notable for her amazingly extensive vocal range. She is the current Guinness World Record holder for singing the highest recorded vocal note and also possessing the largest recorded vocal range, which spans exactly 8 octaves from G2-G10. The G10 is out of human hearing range; thus, it has been verified by comparing the frequency of the note to that of a piano, a violin, and a hammond organ, according to the Guinness Book of World RecorRAB."

She sings out of human hearing range. That's hilarious! I'm not sure how they compare the frequency to a piano etc. themselves if they can't hear it though... shouldn't they be using some kind of physical wave-measuring device instead?

EDIT: This post is late, I see...

Come on. Your supposed to be the queen of sarcasm and you didn't see that go right over your head........Tsk tsk.

I actually flew out of Aussie stupider than when I flew in.

By the way my IQ is a damn site highly than that.

No he hasn't, Rudess' work in LTE eclipses everything Wakeman has done. And Rudess' solo in LSFNY is beyond anything Wakeman could play. And his composing in "Blind Faith" is untouchable.

This means nothing when we're talking about skill.

So have I.

Im asuming you mean "pftt"

But skillwise, Peart is better, and when it comes to being a exciting and entertaining drummer, Peart also takes it in my opinion.

Im willing to upload a performance for anyone whos interested.

Been saying this for years, glad it's not just me who thinks that.

I was almost lynched for saying that on the forum I was on before this one.

^Twas listening to some of their stuff today and was getting pretty pissed off with the keyboard sounRAB instead of the vocalist this time, unusual by my standarRAB. It was starting to sound like crappy synthesizer music for games like street fighter.... nanananananananananana bfffff nananan bash nananan thud nanana YOU SCORED A TRIPLE COrabO nananana shut the Fshhhhhck up.....

And so Dream Theater was henceforth deleted from my playlist.

Technical ability wise.

Petrucci = Portnoy > Myung = Rudess >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Labrie.

Labrie just flat out sucks, even most DT fans should know that.

You can name 10 better drummers than MP, big deal, i can name 30 better than Petrucci, 30 better than Myung and at least 20 better than Rudess, all you did was laugh it off without trying to make a valid arguement, which is how you like to argue things, you're just like the KISS guy only you say things like "lollolol" and "rofl" instead of "in your opinion"...Its basicaly your way of saying "i have nothing important to contribute to this forum".

You shouldnt even bother making a reply prog metal boy, im not the worlRAB biggest technical skill expert, but im damn sure i know more about instrumental ability than you do.

I can also name more skilled players than petrucci, from every genre too, except maybe the blues, because the blues simply isnt a very technical chops oriented style of music.

^ By the way folks, this guy actualy included Kurt Cobain and Robert Smith on a poll of the most technically skilled guitarists of all time...Im not joking, though i wish i was.
