"Dragon Ball Kai" Saiyan Story Arc (#1-16) Talkback (Spoilers)

...I'm not big on seeing little Gohan, so the edit's all right, I guess. I guess the broadcasts are serious though. I hope they don't butcher Tien's lost arm scene.

It looks like FUNimation prefers "Dragon Ball". Dragonball Evolution is the only time I've seen an official American release that was definitely "Dragonball", but I don't count that.

For being so important they sure had a lot of bugs. I can't think of one time after the saiyan saga (movies included) were anyone using a scouter didn't have it explode while it was still stuck to the side of their head.

Also, am I the only one who misses some of the filler? Trouble on Arlia was one of my favorite episodes.

Anyone want to make a prediction as to what filler might be kept and what might be removed?

I'd say definitely gone:

- Princess Snake
- Fake Namek
- Ginyu taking over Bulma's body
- Most of the Saiyan training eps
- A few of the Saiyaman episodes
- Garlic Jr. Arc
- All scenes with Maron during the Cell arc
- The drawn out filler scenes of Goku Vs. Freeza (thank god!)

Aside from that I think they may keep some of the filler. If they chop off Goku falling off Snake Way, they'd have to cut out the whole Pikkon tournament and all the other scenes later on that show hell and the other Kai's.

Does the edit really matter? What difference does it make? We still saw the attack tear right through Raditz and Goku. The point is made regardless of the blood that is shown after the fact. In any case, comparing it to Saban DBZ is really too much.

We're allowed to talk about the content, just not how we acquire it. That was my bad.

That opening got me so pumped for this, but I haven't seen the ending. Is it on Youtube like the opening is? It doesn't seem to be linked in this thread yet.

Actually, the first animation of Cha La Head Cha La was:

It aired until the arrival of Vegeta and Nappa, but Funimation didn't include it on the DVD releases. However, it is on the Dead Zone DVD.

What most people think is the first animation is actually the second, which aired from said arrival until the introduction of Trunks.

Yes, which will make it very interesting to see how this works out. Much of the latter material is modified from the Manga by filler.

Considering promotional materials have only centered on the Saiyans and Freeza--and with Wasted Wisher thinking the later will be done with the late forties--one must wonder if the series might end there.
