"Dragon Ball Kai" Saiyan Story Arc (#1-16) Talkback (Spoilers)

The thing is, the next Season set release is the last of the series. Therefore, DragonBall Kai would be the perfect way for FUNi to still milk the franchise. FUNi wants it, why wouldn't they it's the series that made them succesful in the first place? The main question is whether Toei is willing to give FUNi the rights, at least for now. Although the other main question would be if FUNi manages to screw up DragonBall Kai's release here somehow, because of their curse with the franchise.

Episode 8 of Kai covered up all of episode 21 of Z (with brief scenes of Nappa and Vegeta in space from the end of episode 20 and Goku rushing on the Serpent Road from episode 22). Looks like next week will go all the way up to Yamcha's death.

As for the next episode, here's the following filler I expect to be removed:
-Yajirobe talking to the reporters about the Saiyan invasion and taking advantage of it.
-All the Kame House scenes.
-The news crew that arrive at the battlefield only to get killed by Nappa.

Yeah, Bora was the one!

Truthfully, by this point we'd seen Son in almost as dire situations, what with Tao Pai Pai, Old Man Piccolo Daima

To be fair, by the time he left most of his sons were already well into adulthood, and when he decided to stay dead he felt it would be for the best of the world and his family and friend since in Z at least, every major villain came to Earth because of him. For the most part, Goku is a loving, if somewhat immature father.

Considering how many episodes are left, I think we're in for a long wait.

I mean, if they were to license it tomorrow, there would be massive gaps separating each DVD set.

The good news is that by the time it's possible to release it efficiently, Blu-Ray might be cheaper. Maybe.

"Dragon Ball Kai" Saiyan Story Arc (#1-16) Talkback (Spoilers)

At the end of the series he didn't leave because of evil, he left to train someone he could fight. Sure, he had adult sons, but what about his wife and grandchid?

Alas, it's Son Gok

Well I always thought Goku went back and fourth to his family and Uub using Instant Movement. But really knowing Goku he probraly forgot he really could be in two places at once.

Its funny though it seems those who were extremely evil and emotinalie distant like Piccolo, Vegeta, and 18 seem to be the better parents/spouses. Ok Vegeta did a crap job in the first year of Trunks life but he got better.

Well, I would've liked to have watched it as it was airing, but...

Apparently, the program I'm using would rather show a still-image of a bridge for three hours than a single second of the channel. =\
