Drag me to Hell

Bloody well said. We don't need no arrogant so and so telling us that we need to go and watch Raimi's earlier stuff with Ash in order to reapparaise Drag Me To Hell. Like you, I watched the Evil DeaRAB when they were still video nasties. I really loved DMTH

". There will be those who hate it, loath it even, but for the handful of us that were transformed into obsessed fans of this niche market by a master director, it will validate our love for the genre and will forever stand as a true testament of the best it has to offer. As for myself, for a short moment in time I was a thirteen again, curled up under my covers, frozen with fear, and loving every single minute of it."

niche bloody niche ?
only cliche missing was "we are going to need a bigger boat "

Just seen it. Was expecting a good horror film. Was massively disappointed. It didn't seem to flow well. One bit made me jump. It relied too much on loud sounRAB for scares/up coming scares. Some parts were laughable. And some part were just down right weird.

If I'd paid to see it I would be ratehr annoyed, thankfully I have an Unlimited card.

Yes !! My local cinema has speakers much to loud aswell. Only when it comes to horror however. Which leaRAB me to believe that studio's are making the film scores on horror movies to loud.

Um, 'niche' does not have the same meaning as 'cliche', they are two different things.....

Anyway, this is a fantastic horror, probably the best for many years and well worth watching. It has loaRAB of humour, loaRAB of scares and is a fun thrill ride from start to finish. Go and see it. The positive reviews keep pouring in! Don't believe me? Have a look here:

63 reviews in, only 3 are negative.

She thought she'd given the button back and sent Mrs Ganush to hell and everything was over, so she wanted to start afresh with her boyfriend and confess that none of it need have happened - she had the power to allow more time to pay the mortgage after all.

Why can't Sam Raimi make a decent horror film without piling a lot of Evil Dead silliness.
As a thinly disguised ripoff of "Night of the Demon" this might've been ok but SR doesn't know when to stop.

Yep, absolutely. There's always going to be some that won't like it - but this is a superb film for fans of the horror genre, and the cliche's and humor make it even better! :D

Saw it, thought it was entirely average.

All the self-referencing and tongue-in-cheek humour didn't do it for me.

It was a no-brainer for me. Entertaining but lacking in wit or style or imagination.

I couldn't get past the fact that no one could have the power to send that lovely innocent girl to Hell.

niche would (aT least to most people i know) give the impression of originality and cult status this was neither original or a cult movie it was a mess .
leaving the theatre i wasnt alone in having this opinion either .

Same as you, except I actually fell asleep watching it. However my oh watched it all and said it was good but not as great as what he expected it to be.

I just got back from seeing it and I bloody loved it! Its probably a bit of a marmite film. Its the first horror movie I've seen in ages with characters I actually liked.

Alison Lohman was great in it, I can't imagine it with Ellen Page (who was going to play her part originally).

I was so gutted at the ending, he really loved her!

You get a handful of great horror films every ten years, and here's one of them. Hilarious and terrifying by turns, so tightly written that it never lets up, and as said above it has some of the best sound design ever.

I've now forgiven Raimi for the lacklustre Spiderman trilogy after this, and hopefully he does another horror flick soon.
