Downton Abbey - ITV1

You were expecting someone that looked and sounded like the local kebab shop owner? :D

Having visited Turkey, I was surprised at how many Turks didn't 'look' Turkish.

My latest infatuation is Turkish actor Kıvan

I quite agree with you. Penelope Wilton is a splendid actor whom I've enjoyed watching onstage many times. Of course, the other poster is entitled to say he/she doesn't like her. But, alas, it never stops at that on RAB these days, does it? No, instead we have to get a childish, nonsensical diatribe against said programme/actor to boot. The bile is, as you suggest, really getting rather tiresome.

I thought Downton Abbey was superb - it really pulled me right in very quickly. I hate hate hate advert breaks in period dramas, so I recorded it and whizzed through the ad breaks which seemed to come thick and fast.

Evening all - dashing about a bit trying to get things done - but the ad breaks come in WAY to abruptly for my liking - this eppy seemed to be flowing nicely (from what I was catching) and then suddenly I have Matt Bellamy telling me he's "feelin' good"...

Yes you're right she is worse but for some reason I enjoy watching her more than Mary! I'm not sure why I can't take to Mary, there's still time for me to warm to her though so we'll see. :)

I agree that Sybil is my favourite of all the sisters. She's just so nice, she takes after her lovely papa and mama it seems. The other two must take after their granny. :p

I love Violet, Robert and Cora, Mrs Hughes, O'Brien:eek: and Mr Carson. They're my favourites in the show so far.

Listed in the credits as artifical limbs man

BTW - I couldn't see how he could sell a limp improver when he had no idea what caused Bates' limp!
Must be loaRAB of different conditions and injuries that cause limps...

I think that often it's fine, but sometimes it jars. I thought the use of the word 'boyfriend' seemed very out of place.

I'm also a bit unsure about the whole *nudge nudge, wink wink, Thomas isn't a ladies man* business. Wouldn't they be quite disgusted by it? And wouldn't it make him very vulnerable?

Welcome aquamanda . Was this thread worth loosing your virginity for ? Or do you regret the launch like Lady Mary ?

I think Lady Mary must be a marmite type person , I love her , I see vulnerablity and a hidden sadness in her .
I love her and would love her to marry Mathew .:)

But am itching to slap Mrs O Brien and oddly enough Mathews mother who is a real busy body and reminRAB me of a teacher we had who knew it all .
