My dogs are about 2 1/2 years old. when we first had them we lived in an apartment and we would take them outside several times a day to pee. we bought a house, and installed a doggie door. and we also bought baby gates to enclose them in the kitchen with access to the dog door at night. for about a year they were using it perfectly! no accidents, they knew outside was the bathroom and inside was not. now all of the sudden, all three of them have been having accidents in the house, even in their gated off area. after the first few accidents i moved the gates to make a smaller enclosure with access to the door with the dog door (just big enough for their bed, food and water and all three of them, they are chihuahuas) maybe a 4x4 area.
at night, INSTEAD of going out of the doggie door they will pee outside of their area through the gate. its so frustrating im not sure what to do. we try to praise them every time we see them going 1 or 2 outside. but it seems that every single night they pee in the kitchen.
suggestions??
