Dog Soldiers

Such a great film !

I see there is a another one coming out which to me looks like a prequel rather than sequel as it has Ryan in it and of course he wasn't exactly living life to the fullest last we saw of him

I'm surprised at such positive comments about this film in this thread.
Not surprised in a bad way, in a good way.

I am one of those people who tend to think a lot of British films aren't that good.

But I enjoyed this.
I wouldn't say it's one of the very best British films, but I thought it was very good and of a decent standard. And a pretty damned good watch.

I liked the acting, liked the ideas, liked the feel. I think it had a lot going for it.
I liked the dialogue on the whole. There were bits where I thought the dialogue was a bit duff, but on the other hand there was also other parts where I thought the dialogue was excellent.

I'd definitely record this and have it as a keeper in a collection.

It's great to see British film go for stuff that's not done that often and is almost always left to America to make this kind of stuff.

A lot better British horror film than 'Creep' which I saw recently. I thought that was utter junk.

I'd imagine that '28 Days Later' was a big inspiration to the makers of this film, in respect to giving them the confidence to think that yes, the British can make films like this if they put enough thought and motivation into it.
I think that there were flaws, but the only way to learn is for Britain to make more of different kinRAB of films. So all power to the people who made this.

It was refreshing to watch this as it's brave enough to go into a genre that British film tenRAB to avoid too often nowadays and we're all too often left watching the same old stuff you expect from British films, stuffy costume dramas, 'triumph over adversity' heart warming sentimental cliche comedies, crap cheap unfunny comedies, or really really serious subject matter.
Sometimes you want to see British films go for something like this, action horror type stuff that's direct and not afraid to be unashamedly bold about it.

I think it's certainly better than some of the modern American horror films. It just had a certain feel to it that worked well.

I thought it was pretty good, I liked it. It's nice to see that others in this thread also liked it, and even liked it much more than I did.

:)

The only thing I think can ruin this movie is the sequel, coming up next year. I just think it would sully the name of the first film, to the point where people will be comparing them.

I hope at this stage, since the film is already being filmed (or filmed) that it is either AS good or an improvement, which in my opinion is a bit difficult.

Haha just remembered a funny line and looked it up on imdb....

'When you gotta go, you gotta f***ing go. '

'Yea, well maybe it's more like needing a sh*te. Just cos you need one doesn't mean you drop your kegs and pinch one off. '

It's not my favourite film but I also like it. Although I did buy it at first for Kevin Mckidd :D

Not sure you can always judge a film by the first 30mins but hey-ho we can all have an opinion.

I found it better the second time around, think I missed the odd gag the first time!

Yes that bit of dialogue that 'mintchocchip' mentions above I thought was pretty good, when Sean Pertwee and Kevin McKidd are speculating on what it's like to turn into a werewolf. Asking whether it's like taking a piss and when you've got to go you've got to go, or whether it's like wanting a shit and you can sort of 'hold it in'.:D
