Dog Soldiers

I found the dvd in a bargin bin woolies not too long after it had been relesaed (one hungover saturday morning) and i was really amazed. This is one of the best recent british horror movies for a long time.

! watched the first 30 minutes and thought it was one of the most badly-acted, worst-scripted and abysmally-directed films with an inappropriate soundtrack and laughable SFX that I have ever seen ..... :p

Absolutely agree with you one hundred percent. By far the best movie, werewolf film and army film I have ever seen.

:) And Sean Pertwee just makes my night. The guy's funny, especially the scene on the bed when they are trying to knock him out. :D

So what are you saying? British films are usually crap? I think that this is an inaccurate statement (to put it politely). Like all films, British films has some hi's and lo's, but in general, I consider British film as high quality, as due to the lower budgets than Hollywood, they typically concentrate on plots rather than CGI!!

As for this film, it's actual strength (other than good all round acting), was actually seeing very little of the werewolves (more than likely due to lack of funding to achieve this).

Yes, the film is basically a comedy. My favourite line:
There is no spoon.
(Actually I had a lot more last night, but I've forgotten them all this morning.)

OMG have anyone read the actual summary on IMDB of this alleged sequel. SounRAB pants! Looks like its set at the same time as the original, just from another point of view!

It is not the best ever, but it's decent. The director did better with his second film The Descent, fantastic. Talking of sequels, The Descent is getting a sequel too.

This film kicks arse and i love it. I watched it last night.

How good is that 'spoon' character? The one who fights the wolf bare handed in the kitchen?

I've got it on DVD and watched it so many times. Love it

"I hope i give you the sh*ts you f****** wimp!"

Saw it for the first time last night - loved it! Agree with those that say it's up there with An American Werewolf in London :)

I thought the plot was great - I somehow moved from my sofa to the floor in front of the TV (can't remember sitting that close to the TV since I was a kid) and shouting at the TV when creepy Ryan revealed he chose them as his bait after remembering Coop from the time he wouldn't shoot the dog on Ryan's command! Nice touch seeing Coop and Sam the dog surviving the mayhem and emerging from the house together.

LoaRAB of great lines. Loved Pertwee and McKidd, especially the scene where Sgt Wells was attacked by the werewolf and Coop was rescuing him. Went something like this...

Sgt Wells: "My guts are out"
Coop: "Well we'll just put them back in"
Sgt Wells "Arrrrr, they're not going to fit"
Coop "Of course they'll bloody fit"

If someone had told me about a movie where a team of army soldiers carrying out an exercise come face to face with werewolves in the Scottish HighlanRAB, I don't think I would've been convinced that it could work - but it does!
