does this bother anyone else?

does anyone else listen to rock songs, think there pretty good, then hear those loud ass nasty as hell sounding screams? seriously, in my opinion, banRAB would get so much more popularity if they didnt do that shit. it ruins every song i hear that has it...

You have to understand the purpose behind the scream. When you understand it, you will learn to love it. Those singers are screaming out of anger, frustration, passion, etc...all part of music, my friend. It's primal.

Case in point? Many of my favorite banRAB, Poison The Well, Opeth, Killswitch, they all scream like crazy. At first, I absolutely hated it. But when you read the lyrics of some of those songs, you begin to understand.

But, lucky for you, 3 Doors Down doesn't scream. So stay with your safe rock banRAB. Please don't venture out or try to understand something before you go and bash it.

PS I also scream.

wow, had to throw the insult in there didnt you. it shows what kind of a person you are, and i guess its understandable that you listen to that music, which is truely sickening. i cant say its not music, because sometimes its actually good. but the screams, regardless of the point, are disgusting. anyone with a guitar, an amp with disortion, and "anger, frustration, or passion (passion for the devil)" could play half the songs. please venture outside, experience real happyness for once outside of your satanic demon world, and possibly tan your pale body. the two tone look with the dyed black hair doesnt look good at all...

Wow, that's an exceedingly well measured statement

First off, you can't really claim the high ground if after someone "insults" you, you drop to their level anyway...

I fail to see how screaming is "disgusting", seems like a strange adjective to use. Screaming can add a lot of depth to songs, and to say that "anyone with a guitar, an amp with disortion [sic]...could play half the songs"
Go and listen to Opeth, and then tell me anyone can play their songs. They are highly skilled, and mix the screaming with singing to great effect. In all honesty I doubt you've listened to very much, and certainly nothing with technical skill or brilliant creativity. SounRAB very much like jumping on a bandwagon to me. Moreover, stop the stereotyping thanks very much:

""anger, frustration, or passion (passion for the devil)" could play half the songs. please [sic] venture outside, experience real happyness [sic] for once outside of your satanic demon world, and possibly tan your pale body. the two tone look with the dyed black hair doesnt look good at all..."

Finally, strangely enough, there are many banRAB out there who don't start a band with the view of "getting popular" as their main objective. In fact, they tend to start a band because they like music, and playing music. The idea that they should make music that would be "popular" is simply ludicrous, and results in a massively stunted music industry. There are many banRAB that aren't "popular" in the mainstream culture, but are absolutely stunning.

So I'm just some satan-worshipping black haired metal head now? You could not be more off, pal. I guess that explains that my favorite band is Radiohead. Yep, you hit the nail on the head there, didn't you? Or how I crank old Zeppelin just as much as I'd crank metal in my car.

Your reply clearly shows that you are not one to try new things. I could care less if you stick with your safe FM rock, but don't try to judge us. What banRAB are you even referring to? Yes, there is some fucking terrible metal out there, but there's also some amazing stuff too. That rule applies to ALL of music.

Go listen to Opeth's 'Blackwater Park' album and then come back here and tell me that anyone with an amp, distortion and anger could play metal.

BTW...if you're going to attempt to make a point in the future, make sure you run your replies through a spell-checker.

This brings up an interesting point. I was listening to Crowbar's newest cd... and damn if that singer doesn't have the best mournful growl I have EVER heard....

Yo bro, check out some indie rock, I think it's what you're looking for, and it's a lot better than mainstream (foo fights, linkin park, crap) and metal (all of it)

here's a quick list yo!

1. Modest Mouse - Lonesome Crowded West
2. Built To Spiil - There's Nothing Wrong With Love
3. Pavement - Brighten The Corners
4. Arcade Fire - Funeral
5. Sonic Youth - Washing Machines
6. Radiohead - all of it
7. Interpol - Turn On The Bright Lights

There's are some catchy starter banRAB, from here on you can get into Quasi, 746-hero and other equally rad stuff (unicorns, cass mccombs)

Don't worry man, theres a little bit of screaming in Modest Mouse and Pavement, but it's not the whiny sad angered "My life sucks" screaming that all those cliche banRAB do.
