does this bother anyone else?

they're no phil collins....but for what they do, staying within one octave & sounding pretty against ugly guitars, they do it well.

When by Opeth

Red sun rising somewhere through the dense fog.
The portrait of the jaded dawn who had seen it all before.

This day wept on my shoulders.
Still the same as yesterday.
This path seems endless, body is numb.
The soul has lost its flame.
Walking in familiar traces to find my way back home.

So there I was.
Within the sobriety of the immortals.
A semblance of supernatural winRAB passing through.
The garden sighs, flowers die.

The gate was closed that day, but I was bound to carry on.
She could not see me through the windows.
In dismay, strangest twist upon her lips.
Graven face, she said my name.

Once inside I heard whispers in the parlour.
The gilded faces grin, aware of my final demise.

And I cried, I knew she had lied.
Her obsession had died, it had died.

When can I take you from this place?
When is the word but a sigh?
When is death our lone beholder?
When do we walk the final steps?
When can we scream instead of whisper?

When is the new beginning,
the end of this sad MADRIGAL.

Do these really sound satanic?

i know it's a concept album & the last word of every song is the tile of the next (i'd love to do that myself some day, so cool). but i swear he says 'the end is said & done'
i guess because he's like 'mah druh-uh-uh-uhul' or whatever. but it would make more sense

also, that's my fav opeth song, & opeth is my fav band ever.

You're going to tell me Pavement isn't Indie? Even though they're the first indie band to break it into the mainstream? Sorry, bud. Modest Mouse is way indie. Listen to Long Drive, Lonesome Crowded, or Fruit That Ate Itself and then come back here and say that.

To be fair, Radiohead was NEVER indie rock. Never. I agree with Built to Spill, Sonic Youth, Pavement and Arcade Fire though.

Interpol? On the fence....they've still got the indie vibe, but they're in danger of crossing into the mainstream. But I've got faith in those boys, so they'll keep true to their roots.

Modest Mouse isn't indie rock anymore. Not with the last release.

who cares.. modest mouse is old news, they have been putting out shit for like 11 years. forget what they did on their new album, it doesnt even matter at this point. I really dont know what the guy was trying to prove. but arguing about whos indie and whos not shows a lot about your shallow interest in music.
