Does the Wii have built in wireless?

I have a wireless router setup in my house and want to connect the wii to the internet when I get it this weekend. Does it have a built in wifi or do I need to buy a special accessory? Or can I just plug it directly into my router?

It has wifi, if you want to hard wire it you need an adapter though, it'll most likely pick up your wireless lickity split though like it did mine.

"Internet
Wireless IEEE802.11b/g or a USB LAN adaptor. WiiConnect 24 persistant connection, even when powered off."

thanks guys. looks like it'll be a go right out of the box kind of weird that you need a lan adaptor if you want it hardwired to the router though.

I thought it at first too but then thought about it some more, I think it's more common for houses to have wireless routers than cat5 cable running to the TV/Enterainment center.

in most cases but b/c i do have cat5 cables running throughout the house to a central media cabinet I figured hey why not. The connection would be more consistent and the speeds are better too.

Wired is superior to wireless in every aspect other than practicality. Wired networks allow for much faster transfer speed, almost no latency(compared to wireless) and more secure communications. WPE/WPA are so easy to crack a 10 yrs old could do it.
