It seems that way to me. Out of all the Latino countries with a large African influence, DR seems to be the one that is most in denial. Most of the Dominicans I know (and especially the black ones) are anti-black and deny African heritage. I see it all the time.
It's not like that among the Cubans. Cubans recognize the African influence and even have Santeria. Not even Puerto Ricans deny African heritage as much as DR.
So why is this?
