Does Sony replace PS3 controller batteries?

the insturctions in the owners manual says to toss out the old controler when the battery dies/remove battery

nothing about getting a new controler from Sony.

Has anyone confirmed that they give you a new controler when the battery dies?

since there are instructions on how to replace the battery i doubt this. at most you will have to trade in ur controller for a "new one" which will probably just be a refurbished one with a new battery.

what i dont get is why didnt sony cash in on this like the 360?

sell rechargable battery packs and chargers instead of this nonsense

i guess you can say the same about the Wii but at least you can easily get replacements or invest in some rechargeable ones

well technically they come with rechargable batteries, it's not like the ones that microsoft made are going to last forever either. but if the battery isn't replaceable well, that would be fucking gay

ORRRRR buy a logitech rumble pad and use that as a ps3 controller. You can use pc controllers as replacements you know. Wired usb ftw.

I think that if you send the controller back to sony they'll send you a new (refurb) one for free for the first 3 years you've had the controller.
