Does it matter if I use diferant brand car audio parts in the same system?

This may be a dumb question for some but I have kenwood 600w amp powering my 2 "12 DUAL subs, and I have 4 main sony xplode speakers being powered by a DUAL 4ch 1200w amp, and a shocshe wiring kit from wal mart, I have not hooked it all up yet and I'm really not looking forward to it, I'm having help from my uncle who's an electrician and has dabbled in car audio. Does it matter that I'm using all these diferant brands? Will certain things not work with others? Thank You..
 
Dont worry about a thing. Sounds like you'll have a good little system. Take your time hooking it up. Use crimps and not electrical tape. Run your power wire down one side, and your rca on the other side.
