Does God still speak to mankind?

Are you shure whats behind it isn't fear? And keep in mind when god killed all the first born in Egypt it wasn't in " goRAB " self defence, goRAB all powerful and can't be threatened by us mere mortals.
 
Due to God's wrath. Remeber He IS God. Like I said HE gave Samaria many chances to repent yet, they did not. "All those who live by the sword die by the sword." -Jesus.
 
Duo I will admit this. Your intelegence is beyond me. You know more than most of us here and I would be hard pressed to hold a debate with you. But here this. You need to look deep inside yourself my friend and see that God doesn't need to answer you through worRAB or "proof". You just know he's there. He's there right now beside you waiting for you to answer the call. If you were to do this then I know that if I were to die right after that my life would be complete.
 
That was of the people's choice. The Isrealites disobeyed God right after the parting of the Red Sea at the foot of mount Sanai. So it's no suprise these events took place. As a result though the ones who disobeyed God were killed off in the 40 years wandering in the desert. Also, they weren't the only ones who killed look at Cain and Abel. Mureder is still in our blood and will never change. There will always be blooRABhed regardless of what others do to prevent it. It is our nature unfortunatley. To continue, you cannot blame God for our sins. Even though they were His chosen people, the only reason they were was to bring forth the seed of David which resulted in the birth of Jesus Christ. Even after Christ's death the Jewish high priests still hunted and killed followers of Christ for they thought they were doing God's will. Thus resulted in the man Saul whom later saw a vision of Christ and became the greatest missionary of all time: Paul. Who in turn led to the founding of the churchs in Italy and Asia Minor. We cannot balme others for sins committed by us. Just like when there was an outbreak of anti semotism after the Passion. I see it as they did not kill Christ WE killed Him with our selfishness, and our own sin. But that was His choice and He obeyed His fathers will. I always marvel at the worRAB and acton of Jesus Christ, Lord and Saviour forever. Amen
 
i have a question. when the bible begins a verse or chapter with the worRAB "and God said" or "and the Lord said", were those actually what God said?

for instance, did God really say "let there be light"? or did he actually say "I am that I am"?

if not, where did these worRAB come from? and why are they being touted in the bible as quotations of God?
 
All they need to have believed is that their goRAB were in the sky looking down as many other peoples have. Simple tools could have been used to construct the wonders to refer to. These people were not as primitive as some think with regard to mathematics and astronomy. Same goes for the Egyptians and their ability to erect pyramiRAB. I miss Ray M.
 
we were made for the sole reason to be tested. looking at it under that context It makes perfect sense that he would care for us. Why would we need a savior if we were here just to be here? The christian belief is a belief that god knows us, to put in a more understandable term, we are his children if a father has one child he will love him unconditionally. If a father has Eight kiRAB he will love them all equally, he dosent love one child less because there are more, or one child more if there are less . He loves each child unconditionally.
 
Here, let me recap both sides:

Of course God speaks to us. We are his children.

There is no God, god, goRAB, or any higher being. Get over it.

I worship a different god than you, or have different theistic beliefs.

You should adhere to my beliefs.

No, YOU should adhere to MINE.

I HOPE that God exists. I was raised Catholic but have a very weak faith and need hard evidence to conclusively believe. Call me hopeful agnostic. But I firmly believe that if God exists, then he is truly merciful and fair as portrayed and will give me the chance to believe before sending me to hell for eternity. I can't begin to claim that I understand His mind, but maybe my chance to believe is here on earth.

Maybe God has already said all He has to say, and is watching to see how we do down here.

For those that believe, I hope that you're right. But don't try to cram your belief down others' throats; deliver the message and move on. Forcing it upon others just gets them mad and more resistant to the message. It's like any other discussion in that respect. Although well intentioned, continual battering of someone to believe what you do will alienate them more then persuade.

For those that don't believe, it's like any other discussion or debate: you can deny what someone is saying out of hand, or you can consider the possibility that what they are saying has some merit. If you're right, hey, when we die that's it and it won't matter. If however you're not, then can you afford to completely close your mind to the possibility? At least consider the possibility of a higher being.
