Does Blood dry a bright red or a darker red?

honestly, I think she is worried about diseased blood if you ask me. She seemed a bit worried because she said that it was on top of the opening of her new dishwasher. Not on the door that opens, but not far from it from what she described. I think she's worried that maybe either she feared that she touched it, or it affected the inside of the dishwasher somehow. Just knowing her, I think she is fearing disease in the blood (if that's what it was) because she didn't know where it came from. She just said that there was about a 1/2 in. long "mark" on there that looked like someone took a big perm. marker and marked it but looked like blood so I don't know. Just my thought on that.

My sister wanted to know if what color blood dries...a more darker red or a bright red? She saw a Mark on her new dishwasher and said it was bright red and thought it was blood and I thought blood dried a more darker color...who's right? Thanks!

has she cleaned it off yet or is she still wondering what to do there? i really would be suprised if ANY actual store would send out a brand new appliance with blood on it? did someone come in and install this for her? if so, that could possibly be where it came from? one of the guys could have cut themselves while doing it kinda thing? dried blood would tend to 'flake off' if something touched it, but a marker would kind of 'stay put" so to speak? either way, if she has not yet cleaned this off, all she needs to really do, if this IS blood esp? get some good disposable gloves and use like those new lysol type wipes(they come in a nice upright rounded container? i use them alot) they have or some other type of cleaner that kills off germs/disenfectant and use that to clean it off, then place everything used into a bag and throw it away in the garbage. she can also wipe out the inner parts(just close to where this was located since the dishwashers heat will actually sterilize the rest of the inside when its run?) with the wipes as well if she feels it is not really 'clean' to her standards too. it is always better to be safe than sorry when it comes to anyones blood. but doing what i mentioned above, if she still has not cleaned this, should work just fine with no risk of any exposure to her. she may want to also wipe down all the outside areas that will come in contact with people or food too just to be certain? I haven't seen it, but, are you saying that if she hasn't/doesn't clean it, that it should be ok? I am passing along comments to her and I just want to be clear. She said that it was shiney so maybe it wasn't blood because I didn't think blood dried shiney but again, I am no expert on this at all. Thanks again.

no new dishwasher or ANY brand new appliance should 'lkeak' in any way shape or form. i would have them either come out and fix the dang thing or make them take it back, since 'something" is wrong there. leaking water onto a floor or any other place is going to creat ALOT of problems over time and just is not a 'good' appliance?

when it comes to how the dishes are washed THEN dried with LOTS of heat and of course the detergent used to wash them? its all pretty much sterilized in there, ya know what i mean? its really seriously HOT inside a dishwasher, enough to kill off any real germs or "issues' that could simply 'be there" with blood? esp when there is sooo much very hot water also diluting any contaminants too thru many cycles it simply goes thru too? this is just how a dishwasher 'cleans' off your dishes to the point that you even just CAN eat right off them when they are actually washed then heated dry? its the way it simply works that i really do not think she has anything truely contaminated sitting anywhere like her cupboards?

but based upon how that washer is simply NOT working the way it should be right now, i would take it back if i were her. its just NOT supposed to do that? this could be the reason it WAS actually even marked with a red marker to begin with too? its just NO appliance that requires water like dishwashers, refrigerators or washers should leak ANYTHING out of the appliance when using it or esp when not actually using it and its leaking anyway kinda thing? i would tell her to speak to the head of the dept and make them exchange it or fix it.

but i truely doubt that she has anything to worry about with the possible blood being there? it does not even sound to me like it actually even was blood to begin with? she needs to ask THEM if that dishwasher was actually marked at THEIR store for some reason? that would tell alot right there? but when you buy anything 'brand new' there just also HAS to be like a thirty day guarantee or even possibly longer(usually like 30-90 day at the very least with most)? she needs to check on that.

but like i mentioned before, i really DO seriously doubt that this even was actual blood? so she just really needs to tell these people she either wants this fixed asap, or give her a new one since this IS a brand new appliance and like i said, should have a gurantee/warrenty of some kind on it too from the date of purchase? have her just read thru the papers/reciept that she got when she purchased it, any warrenty info should be there. by law, they would simply HAVE TO make it 'right' for the customer. she can also report them to the BBB (better business bureau)or simply call the BBB with any questions she need answered. or even when speaking with the store manager simply mention that if things are not made "right" she WILL call the BBB and report them? no business likes to have any complaints made to the BBB about them, trust me. these people are there FOR the customers rights protection too. that is really who i would call if i was getting nowhere, esp if this is a business/store as huge as lowes. i have had to call the BBB before in the past and they ARE very helpful to anyone who needs some help of guidance thru a situation like this. there is a local state, her state of the BBB? i was able to find the number in the front of my phone book, but you could probably find it online too. just have her put in her state, then BBB or type out the full wording and it should pop right up? but thats about all i can tell ya here. but i do not think what was described was actual blood, but marker of some kind? but if she feels 'something" might have gotten on her dishes, she can always wash them all by hand in lots of soapy water, just for 'her' peace of mind only since i would doubt there realistically even could be any issues? but it will make HER feel better since she just is the way you mentioned she is? its not a 'have to' thing in either case(just the modes of action that the dishwasher would kill off?), but for HER only? but i do think everything is just fine there ya know? she just now needs to worry about getting a good brand new working right appliance from these people. tell her good luck with this. just in my experience in working ems over many years and seeing tons of blood in various shapes and forms(LOTS of dried blood on many things), and with me and my own kids always doing something to cause bleeding too, i have never seen blood dried that has any type of actual 'shine" to it?? there is ususally nothing actually IN blood that would make it dry with any shine. so i am guessing this is more than likely marker or something along those lines that did not actually come from a human being?

but either way you would want to try and clean that off if only for appearance sake, esp simply being a brand new appliance and all? but if 'she' has any doubts at all, just have her clean it off the way i mentioned above. but i seriously doubt what you explained would be blood.

just an FYI here tho? she may want to call the store where she actually purchased that dishwasher, just to find out WHY it came with red marker ON it at all? there may be something wrong with it since it was somehow 'marked'? there just may be a real solid reason at the store end as to why this would actually even BE this way that SHE just needs to check out to make certain its actually a good working appliance? if that mark was NOT on there when she bought it, she needs to find out where that came from and the 'whys' of it? ya just want/need to get what you paid for ya know? I told her what you said about calling the store. She said that she couldn't recall that mark being on their when it was taken out of the box because she thinks she would have noticed that when it came out of the box. She said that she used it and didn't like the way it was drying dishes and how long it took to do the dishes so she took it back and got a different one. She says that her concern is now is, since she has washed the dishes in there and if that was blood, she was thinking that somehow the blood got INSIDE the dishwasher and mixed in with the water washing the dishes. I simply told her that I don't know how that could have gotten inside the dishwasher based on where she told me it was on top of the dishwasher past the door opening but she seemed to think that maybe the heat would have liquidized it somehow and thus getting inside. Since it was installed under a cabinet, she said that the mark was not seen and she didn't want to deal with it. Blood really makes her woozy. so now the concern is, are her dishes possibly contaminated as she puts it. Another thing she said is, when she got the dishwasher, it leaked water and called the store about it and they (Lowe's) told her that all dishwashers come that way because they are tested before sent out. Now, I have never heard of that, but maybe that's what they do now, I don't know.

just an FYI here, it is the level of actual oxygen/hemoglobin, or 'red blood cells" in arterial blood that creates that brighter red color as opposed to when you look at what is venous blood that is ALWAYS a bit more deeper/darker red with at times more of a blueish undertone to it(esp if you watch it ooze directly out of a vein?), ONLY becasue it does NOT contain ANY red blood cells in it anymore? thats why arterial blood will bleed more of a a brighter crimson red and venous bleeds will ooze out a really deeper form of darkish red? and the iron content in both is usually the same.

i am just wondering why she needs to even know this? most 'bleeds" will naturally just dry up eventually with a bit darker color(almost looks kind of like 'rust" since that is mostly what the above poster mentioned as the actual iron content?" only becasue the dried up blood has simply now lost the fluid/water content by that time too? so i guess it would by YOU that is right here in this whatever "contest" you two have goin on with each other, lol? ahhh sisterhood.
