that would describe
importance of nature
non conformity
free thought
simplicity
or getting the most from life

examples could be from tv shows, commercials, movies, books, songs, articles, comics
thank you for all your help! it is much appreciated!!!!! thank you

Sadly no, I can't think of anything crucial that answers your question.

Pop culture is an oxymoron. There is nothing really cultural about pop icons like actors, entertainers, & athletes. These folks may have their merits in their own fields , but they are not really changing the world for the better on a permanent basis. Ex: Michael Jackson is in no way equal to Newton, nor is any athlete equal in significance to a Galileo or Columbus. You see what I'm saying?

Culture use to be about the arts & sciences. People like Da Vinci, & Van Gogh, Newton, Einstein, Mozart, Vivaldi, Bach, Shakespeare etc.

What comes to my mind are tv shows like Tribal Oddessy on the Travel Channelthat show ancient cultures of people who are virtually untouched by western society and have maintained age old traditions. These groups typically live off of nature and demonstrate to the moral that having all our "modern" technology is not always better because thses people often live happy peacful lives without many of our modern conveniences.

For books I think of Anthem by Ayn Rand. While it may not focus on living off nature and simplicity, free thought is the biggest moral of the story as well as non conformity. Read it a few years back and it really shows the contrast between a totalitarian government with no individual freedom, and a democracy where people have power and liberties like now.
