Does anyone know of a good novel about 80s culture?

I really love the 80s, and I'm looking for a really good novel about the decade. Something set in the 80s and somewhat rich in its culture.
 
If you aren't afraid of obscenity, drug use or promiscuous unprotected sex, try Less Than Zero by Bret Easton Ellis. There's a TON of 80's culture in that one. But warning: it is depressing. It made me feel like no one in the history of the world ever accomplished anything at all in any way whatsoever and we're all doomed forever.

So yeah, it's pretty uplifting.
