Though both plug directly into the car stereo, I feel like the auxiliary input would yield a better sound quality over the fm modulator..? Modulator's cheaper too, leading me to think the other one is better.
grazia is half right. An AUX will be a bit better but I've NEVER had to change channels because it's a direct feed. The signal is too strong to be corrupt by ANY outside station.

AUX input will always sound better because it is a direct wired connection. The FM transmitter is only wired to your radio, which leaves room for interference from the device(mp3 player?) to your radio. FM signals are never ALWAYS clear. you constantly have to keep changing the channel. the Aux input is a much better idea. you can get a standard cord at like radioshack or even walmart for a few bucks.
